I think Iād have gone for Field or Hayden in a three with Saito and Burrell supporting Kone - as the starting line up - and change it early on in the 2nd half with impact from Vale, Dembele, Frey, Esquerdina, Kolli etc to try and nick the points.
Giving Julien the benefit of the doubt, given his recent efforts to communicate and share in the meantime.

With Smyth & Walsh injured, the only surprise in the Team selection for me is that Vale is starting, Saiko was going to start all day long, back 4 did enough against Charlton, so did the other midfielders and Kone up front.
Think Burrell will be up top with Kone.
Keep it tight for the first 20 odd minutes and we have chances, Wrexham are nothing special.

Kone and Burrell from the start is exciting, and presumably wonāt have been what Wrexham expected. Madsen and Varane up against a big, physical three-man midfield feels like a disaster waiting to happen though. For me, the long term development of Esquerdinha is enough reason to drop him.
Nothing personal, he seems dependable and a good pro and has been good for us. Just short term thinking to put minutes into his legs and not our own.
Had this whole debate already on another thread and the argument for his signing was as back up to Esquerdinha. Just saying in hindsight thatās not been the case. [Post edited 13 Sep 14:54]

Who said the whole idea of his signing was as back up to Esquerdinha.
He was bought IMO, to be first choice as it would be way too much to expect a rookie 19 year old, to develop whilst being first choice option, all season.
I would suggest ND was loaned in to be the number one left back, he is our player for a year and has had plenty of decent experience and his performance last time out, was decent and Esquerdinha benefitted also with a decent cameo. [Post edited 13 Sep 15:00]
