Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread on 13:48 - Sep 16 by wwcigne | Our fullbacks aren’t the best at defending,Key in particular is very poor,he’s a wingback not a classic right back and always struggles against even average wingers , both our fullbacks are always about 15/20 yards off the wingers when the opposition have the ball the wingers are then always allowed to be picked out by balls played wide and run at us and usually get a ball into our box,on the other hand our wingers seem to be marked properly and rarely have the time and space that we afford the opposition, it seems to be a part of the modern game that fullbacks don’t mark tightly. When we turn the ball over we also seem to give the opposition space to run at us from centre midfield and just back off instead of standing our ground and putting tackles in It’s a big concern that We give teams too many opportunities to put crosses in from out wide or deep but is something we should be able to work on in training |
This frustrated me on Saturday. We know Tymon likes bombing on and we were under the pump, so why bring Eom on? He hasn’t got the pace to pin them back or hurt them on the counter and he offers very little in terms of protecting his fullback. There’s definitely a place for him, but he’s a luxury player. Not someone you bring on when you’re hanging on to a lead. Especially when most of Hulls attacks started out wide. Surely that was a chance to give Samuels-Smith a go. No shame in playing two fullbacks in that situation.

There's something up with Eom warming up by himself halftime was really strange and it was effortless, pretty much like his performance when he came on.
