Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread on 18:09 - Sep 13 by Whiterockin | What was it with Eom warming up by himself at halftime away from the other players. It wasn't really warming up just tapping the ball to himself it seemed very strange. |
I thought the same WR...at first I thought he was coming on at the restart but it was strange how he was isolated from the other subs

He's in his mid/late 70's, and even in his prime would have gone everywhere team handed with other bizzies armoured and tooled up. He's striking fear into the hearts of nobody.

Yep its sad. I know quite a few bobbies, I was best man for one of them at their wedding, he returned the favour for me. They are all in their mid 50s like myself and none of them are bullies or talk like he does. As ive said its sad.

Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread on 20:39 - Sep 13 by RichardO | As they piled on the extra forwards maybe Casey on mY havebeen a better option than rhe likes of Cullen. Hull targeted the flanks all game with the likes of McBurnie being a nuisance all game sometimes the full backs think they need to tuck in more leaving the wingers spare. We do struggle with the cross field ball which leaves wingers often one on one, cut out the long balls wingers have less opportunity to get the ball tofeet and run at defenders. I thought initially Joseph had the better on Key but after thecollision I though Key handled him well, Ty.on had the first winger running at him too much but proved little threat, in that final 15minutes the second winger cause us problems. Lots of little things need to be improved to prevent us giving away the leads we had and I am sure they will be looked at as Sheehan learns the strengths and weaknesses of his newer players. |
No. Should have sent Benson on and pinned them back. When the hell apart from coopers sides habe we been able to defend ???if we’d have kept Yalcouye and Inoussa on we’d have maybe extended our lead.

The only thing I’ve heard on Inoussa is that he is still being limited regards the minutes he plays. It’s no excuse for Sheehan’s ridiculous tactics though.

We have defended just as well under Sheehan, even under Cooper we conceded late goals as well as winning games late on, it happens. Bitterly disappointing to concede two goals which is the first time this season in competitive games, picked off with the first and the second inevitable given the number of opportunities we gave them in the penalty area. As for pinning them back, Idah looked as if the ball would stick to him initially but under the high ball clearance that we adopted became less effective, we were losing the battle in midfield with our three attacking midfielders Widell, Cullen and Eom, would I have brought the three on in the situation we found ourselves, no, I would have left at least one of Franco or Yalcouye on and maybe Vipotnik, I would have looked to bring on a defender on most probably Casey. We left ourselves defensively short trying to use too many attackers on the pitch. I would not have left Inoussa on given his return from injuries and the fact he lots like one of our best attacking threat we cannot afford to lose.

If you’re any fatter than the last time I saw you, I would be confident It’s not about age but technique Twice my size makes you twenty seven stone The physiology of your body doesn’t change Pressure points are still pressure points Pain is pain , like watching that give away yesterday right at the death So you’re 45 ? Really And you wanting Fulton on is too painful to contemplate Hun [Post edited 14 Sep 9:04]

Didn't think Fulton was available so need to look at other alternatives than the ones used.Brought on four attacking players? Similar to the last nubute loss to Nillwall do you consolidate what you have or throw caution to the wind, we got picked odd again for the first; very unlikely Sheehans team normally, different managers but same mistakes. I have time for Sheehan so we will see how things develop as teams and managers pick options to counter iurs [Post edited 14 Sep 10:46]

Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread on 18:16 - Sep 13 by heatwave | Sitting 7th after 5 games would generally be viewed with optimism. However when you look at the points we've gained. 6pts against the Sheffield clubs that are getting pumped by most teams and two home draws against clubs currently occupy 17th and 20th position seems to point to rather less optimism. Our next 5 games should tell us what to really expect. Brum Blackburn and Soton away. Millwall and Leicester home. Another 8 points from that lot? |
I think it’ll take at least until November for the team to gel with so much change during the window. Despite dropping points yesterday….usual Swans after the International break….we have a very good squad and an ambitious manager. Bit of patience on our part will go a long way in supporting our team.

Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread on 17:08 - Sep 13 by Fireboy2 | Sheehans substitutions cost us 2 pts, he settled for the 2-1 too early, vip should have stayed on for longer. Hull were poor but definitely deserved the draw as they kept on going for it, whilst we just p!ssed about with the ball. |
I think that was more a case of wanting to get Idah on. First chance since he signed two weeks ago. Understandable. I agree though, Vipotnik didn’t deserve to come off. Apart from the second half at Sheffield, that was the best I’ve seen him. Encouraging that his best two performances (IMO) came in the last two games. The other substitutions, as well as the tactics at that point were confusing. Cullen is never going to be the right man to bring on to defend a lead. Eom was a passenger. Widdell looked unsure of himself. All three of them are more capable further up the pitch. We lost pace and aggression when the first two replaced Yalcouye and Inoussa. Taking Franco off for Widell at that stage was even worse. I couldn’t work out what we were trying to do. We weren’t attacking in numbers or trying to pin them back, but we weren’t really defending either. We were letting them get deep crosses in at will. It almost looked like we were just gambling on winning the scrambles when they launched it into our box. I think Sheehan has to hold his hand up for the dropped points and the way we played for the last 20/30 minutes there.

Knew he was injured and yes he has a lot championship experience to offer the squad especially in situations like yesterday which is why Sheehan will have to look for alternatives
