Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread 16:14 - Sep 9 with 1783 views | ModeratorC | Despite certain folk believing Oli McBurnie would return to the Swansea,City this summer, it was never going to happen. He will almost certainly be there this Saturday in a Hull City shirt.Theres a six game block until the next international break in October.

I like your thinking: Vip blasts one from just inside the 18, Inoussa collects a superb Galbraith pass & beats his man for what is deemed an outstanding team goal, and after coming on for Vip in the 80th min, Idah heads one home to finish a superb 3-0 Swans win. We all are looking forward to seeing how Sheehan brings this team together.

Swans wait on Stamenic after midfielder's wasted journey - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cjw7d4wg1jgo Abductor injury. Grade 1 strain typically heals in 1-2 weeks, a Grade 2 strain in 3-6 weeks, and a Grade 3 (severe) strain can take 4 months or more to fully recover. [Post edited 9 Sep 18:28]

I’ve been told he already had an abductor issue and it was just a minor reoccurrence and was brought back as a precaution.

Yet I have seen a few billboards with wales tickets advertised. This should be plastered absolutely everywhere round the city.

I hope you are right. Burgess played the full 90 minutes in both games. [Post edited 9 Sep 18:56]

It's not clear he got injured at all while on international duty. He already had a slight strain and was assessed by the club physios as fit to go. As soon as he got there he was turned around and sent home. These days if a player is injured on international then when he's out for more than 28 days the club gets compensation from FIFA for loss of service. I think FIFA then requires reimbursement from the national side he was playing for. It's quite possible the NZ physios looked at it, didn't fancy the risk, and sent him straight back.

Your last paragraph is spot on, he had to travel anyway even though i suspect the swansea physio told them about the niggle, the niggle he picked up playing for swansea, yes swansea, not wales. It is a niggle, so hopefully in the time since he picked it up might have done him good and he will be ok for Saturday. [Post edited 10 Sep 9:40]

I generally disagree with you on international football, but I think sending Stamenic and Burgess to New Zealand for two friendlies was a bit much. A qualifying game would be different. I’d think the same if we had someone playing in Saudi or the MLS and Bellamy brought him back for a friendly. Maybe it means more to them because of who they are playing, but I do think this is taking it too far.

It’s ok to disagree matey Really it is Stamenic is ours and we had better look after him If in any doubt , withdraw Internationals to many take a distant second place to club And drinking cheap booze with Gogs and creatures soul crew never appealed I was at Anfield in 77 for that game involving Jordan so I’ve really not recovered
