Agreed - terrible subs. I’d stick my neck out and say that taking off Yalcouye just as he was beginning to flourish with all that energy and put Cullen on practically handed the initiative to hull. And Eom has no right to replace Inoussa just as he was beginning to work his full back over . Eom offered NOTHING. You could argue Idah definitely came on early and why not bring Benson on for a tiring Ronald?

I'm feeling a little sorry for Eom. You can sense the usual thickies sharpening their knives in anticipation of making him scapegoat of the season but for me it comes down to two things.
#1. He's not fast enough to be a winger. Similar problem with Ronald, but he's getting the goals at the minute. For me Eom is a much better option to fill that central midfield attacking role I'd like to see.
#2. Confidence. Same as for Vipotnik, when Eom is feeling it he's easily a top end Championship forward. Last season if he'd jinked into a little bit of space like he did a couple of times today he'd have let fly. Now he seems wary of doing so. |
What was it with Eom warming up by himself at halftime away from the other players. It wasn't really warming up just tapping the ball to himself it seemed very strange. |  | | |

So frustrating…..why do our fullbacks stand so far off attacking wingers, every time a ball was played wide their wingers got it in acres and ran at us ,you can’t give widemen 15 /20 yards of space and time like we did , also we just seem incapable of stopping crosses being played in because we don’t get close enough to players out wide , It was obvious with Mc Burnie’s aerial ability they would be looking to get crosses in and we just seemed to invite them to do it , the space they had on the wing to play the ball in for Mc Burnie’s goal was an example,the cross should have been cut out but our player looked like he left it for Viigaroux ,but , Olly did what he does best ,you could feel the last goal coming because we just can’t let teams have so much space
Having said that every time a Hull player went down they had a free kick ,while the ref , who was poor gave us nothing the late one on Ronald before they scored a perfect example
Although Ronnie did look a tad offside for his goal,we won’t count that one 🙄 |
This echos my thoughts exactly (apart from the offside, Ronald was well on😁).The space we allow attacking midfielders or wingers is almost suicidal and resulted in the first equaliser. I don’t understand that. I think I saw VIP moving out wide to stop that ball McBurnie scored with. WTF??? |  |

Sitting 7th after 5 games would generally be viewed with optimism. However when you look at the points we've gained. 6pts against the Sheffield clubs that are getting pumped by most teams and two home draws against clubs currently occupy 17th and 20th position seems to point to rather less optimism.

I knew we were in trouble as soon as he made those subs. Eom & Cullen brought absolutely nothing to the team after coming on. Sat back too early and just invited cross after cross into our box. Ive always said that Eom isn't a winger, as you say hes more like a no10.
Bringing him on for inoussa and cullen for yalcouye was akin to committing football suicide.
Also as ive said before vip should have had at least 10/15 minutes more to help get us a 3rd goal that would have probably finished the game.

As they piled on the extra forwards maybe Casey on mY havebeen a better option than rhe likes of Cullen.
Hull targeted the flanks all game with the likes of McBurnie being a nuisance all game sometimes the full backs think they need to tuck in more leaving the wingers spare. We do struggle with the cross field ball which leaves wingers often one on one, cut out the long balls wingers have less opportunity to get the ball tofeet and run at defenders. I thought initially Joseph had the better on Key but after thecollision I though Key handled him well, Ty.on had the first winger running at him too much but proved little threat, in that final 15minutes the second winger cause us problems.
Lots of little things need to be improved to prevent us giving away the leads we had and I am sure they will be looked at as Sheehan learns the strengths and weaknesses of his newer players. | | | |
