Good post he could have scored 3 and on second look was being dragged down when Coady scored that OG . Just inexperience not pulling the trigger in those chances you have to be ruthless/selfish if you are through on goal forget the noise behind .
Stunning 3rd goal fair play to him and sealing the game in front of the fans pure magic.
Have to credit Dembele also battled hard and nearly scored a beautiful goal ( Kone would have rounded the keeper or fired it low IMO )
Superb win delighted for the manager and players he was correct the season gets going now.

I was making the point that his pace makes the entire goal. The ball it comes from is a standard "get it up the pitch and away from our box" clearance. 99.9% of the time they just end up coming straight back at us. Rumarn turns a route one ball into a superb goal.
He wasn't just alert enough to react to it, he was quick enough to get to it, knock it into space in the one area of pitch that's open, and beat the keeper. Superb finish and a goal out of nothing. Fùck me sideways we've missed that kind of hunger and ability for about 20 years.
But his first touch was poor and he gets away with it because he's fast. A better keeper comes and gets that in my opinion. Onkonkwo comes, stops, thinks about coming again and tries to cover his angles. Rumarn dinks it over him. Beautiful.
But someone - ideally a striker coach, if we do those things these days - needs to tell him his first touch was poor. It's not personal, or mugging the lad off - its coaching. | | | |

Fair enough Grove R. I actually think it was a good first touch as the pace and spin of it really worked for him. Whether that was the intention or not, not sure. Yes, keeper should have come out and would have probably got there.

Looking at that third goal his starting position is a good 15-20 metres behind the right back and he overtakes him like he's Bob Malcolm. He then pushes the ball ahead and is so fast onto it again that the goalkeeper realises too late how quickly he's arriving. Watch that goal again, his pace is astonishing. | |

Oppo teams will see that and drop deep. This allows Madsen space to play balls in behind and Vale goes box to box. Pound fullback s back do Saito does not have to run back so much and Kone can drop deep.
The Kone goal is sheer class, now oppo defenders will have to be tight this means if your oppo do you go with Kone as he drops into the middle and leave space for Burrell or drop deep and allow Kone to link pay or score.
Pack the middle and Saito and Vale can play the wings.
Block all that and you still have to get past Madsen and Varane who play from the back.
