Still needs time but not sure he is really bringing anything new and anything we actually need yet

Careful.
Tony don’t like bedwetters.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

I feel sorry for all you season ticket holders watching this tedious unimaginative crap. Skill is there but no commitment to getting goals.

I didn't like the set up and team selection - too negative. We were as toothless as a goldfish. We need two up front. Portsmouth largely coped with anything we had and when we did deliver there was nobody in the middle to stick it away.

It feels like he has no idea what our best eleven or formation is which given the time he has had is worrying

He's just taken control of a whole raft of new players, and some of them have been on international duty, Noddy.

What a massive, massive anti-climax.

All that build up... anticipation... belief - only to watch that dirge.

I wasn't expecting a classic. It was a derby after all. I was expecting better than that however.

A lot of work for Will Still to do. I hope the new signings help turn us into a good side over the coming weeks but whichever way you choose to express it, that is still just one single win this season from five games. And for a manager who is quoted as saying he "didn't need a striker" this Summer, that is quite some ballsy statement - and one which I do not agree with whatsoever.

This is a valid point. There was little time to prepare with new players and formation (e.g. back to back 4).

Local Derbies also throw the form book out of the window. Pompey's plan was to hustle, disrupt and throw balls into the box from flanks at earliest opportunity. We didn't help our cause by keep giving ball away with loose passes. The 2nd half was better (just - unless you were watching on same TV as Tony ?), but again we lacked a leader to control the situation after a disastrous start/1st half.

On reflection after a few beers and getting my blood pressure down again, we can move on from this. Fellows looked a threat. Still not sure about Roerslev ?

Serious question Sir, for someone that has followed Saints for decades, why is it now that you decided to join this delightful forum?

Personally I think you may regret signing in here as a reasonable portion of Ugly posters pïssed the bed sheets years ago…..

Yes he’s had what 3 days with a full squad. We should sack him in the morning

I said didn't I, that a young manager who has never managed in the Championship before, will get outdone by experienced championship managers, who have been.there, seen it, done it. Very naive. How we could do with wee Gordan Strachan on the touchline. Those were the days.

That doesn’t apply to having a way of working and a solid foundation/formation
Yea he has new players but today he set up differently so why do that if you haven’t had time to prep the team

Let's judge him after 5 games of a 46 game season. Geez what a bed wetter

Balls. Hes been here months and had loads of time with the players. There were a few new ones from the window but other than that hes had some to make some sort of impact.
We look exactly the same as last year. Laboured passing fearful of losing the ball and little movement up front.
He's also had 2 weeks to fire them up for a derby at home, and we got an opening 45 that looked like a pre-season friendly.
I don't think it's bed wetting to think that isn't good enough.

We'll see at the end of the season won't we. That's 9 months away btw

We will. And I hope we win every game and win the league.
But right now it's undeniable that we watch every game hoping for some sort of improvement or encouragement and there is none.

Only 3 of our summer signings started. So it wasn’t like the team was starting from scratch. The team have no ideas on how to create a goal. It’s all so slow. When Still was on sky as a pundit he talked about his team always first try to play forward. Going on today that’s a long hoof up field.

It's very unconvincing. One shot on target at home in a massive derby. 1 win in 5 and that was against newly promoted Wrexham on the 96th minute. It's not bedwetting to have standards. In the PL for most of my life, above Pompey for most of my life and how times have changed. Yes, there is a long way to go, but we dont have any shots, any attacking play, any aggression, any crosses into the box, we can't score. It's 5 pretty average/ poor games. Big improvements needed.

I didn’t want Will Still as manager but he is here now and has to be given time.
Let’s look at the table after the Derby County match.
That’s 10 league games.
A win at Hull next week will help our moods.

As I say, it's 5 games into a 46 game season for a new manager with a new squad.

I guarantee the bed wetters will be solidly behind Still if he goes on a winning run. Fickle fans
