I do think he was partially at fault for their goal, as his man jumped uncontested, and it's decent of him to admit it. But he helped to create and he scored our goal. I thought he was quiet today, but the whole team was.

Look at his starting position and the defensive line which was fairly high. He either had to come or move backwards. He chose the wrong option.
Madsen, who otherwise had a decent game, was weak in allowing the opponent to get an arm over his shoulder and get over the top of him. Nardi misjudged the ball that was curling away from goal. Poor by NM. Very poor by Nardi. I think the latter was fairly good apart from that error.

Tbf to Madsen, i have been delighted he has managed to turn his form completely from dreadful to consistently decent. It does take some level of gutsiness to turn things around from where he was, and especially once the boo boys decide you are one of their targets, things rarely turn around.
i was expecting him to go the same way as Celar and Richards, but fair play and this interview also shows him to be much more confident in himself and the team around him. It's like having a new signing so far - last season Madsen with this season Madsen.
But you carry on all your insults from the comfort of your own bedroom ....
For me, if a player suddenly improves, we get behind them, not still call them names and insult their very existence !!!
Loved how he grabbed the ball for the penalty and then put it away well.
Thought him and RND were probably out two best players today, good of him to accept some fault for the goal and he's clearly working on his defending in general but blame is really with Nardi.
He's not a world beater as some think he should be, but he seems honest, is putting the graft in and can play a bit, I quite like him.

Excellent interview, covered everything. He knows that we did not do enough to win the game but as a previous poster has said Madsen & N/Davies were our best two players on the day, most of the others were average at best.
Some strange substitutions and positioning of players by the Manager but 'fair play' to him he made changes at HT and that was what was required after a dire first half. We had early chances which we did not take and so the result was going to be tough. I thought our two strikers were not very good today & nor were their replacements.
But a point away from home in the Championship when playing overall very average (& giving them a goal start) is OK(ish) even if you are playing against a struggling team. The key now is getting 3 points against Oxford before a very tricky trip to Bristol City.

We obviously see things differently, he would literally be the first name on the team sheet for me at the moment. So much of what we currently do well comes through him. I'm old enough to remember Don Masson who rarely left the centre circle and never ran anywhere but was the lynch pin of that team, and Madsen reminds me a bit of him. Not that good yet, but getting better every week. A great penalty taker too.

His confidence won't be helped by this either, which is a worry.
Its a catch 22 with Nardi Brian I think most teams know he does not like to attack crosses but the last 2 games he came out and did not get close and yesterday it cost us. Maybe he is being coached to get more agressive which will help in the long run but hurt us now IMO. I only watch games on tv but he seems very shaky or lacking in confidence but might be different watching live.He did pull off a couple of good saves to be fair but I would keep an eye on him. Madsen is turning into a good player and an excellent penalty taker and gives an honest interview fair play.We were not good enough but like he said did not lose so on to Oxford and hopefully get back on the winning streak

Madsen is also benefitting from the fact that he actually plays forward passes.
Something very few of our midfield maestros have had in their locker for quite some time.
A midfielder that can sense a play could be am extremely handy attribute.
i am hopeful that Stephan could see Ilias playing this kind of role this season alsl, especially as he will get less game time up top than previous seasons given our multitude of options we currently have in the three behind the striker or two behind two strikers as the case maybe also.

FWIW, I agree with Dutch. There are similarities in their passing and taking of corners and free kicks. Still a work in progress though. Masson had never played in division one before Sexton brought him in and he settled in straight away. However, in those days he got more time on the ball and had fantastic players in almost every position of our team.
