Poll: Who do we want as the new permanent Saints manager?

For those who wonder what this is all about, I Googled it and found this:

https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/136650-championship-202526-season/page/174/

It could be any club. Birmingham fans think it's them, but the moderator of the Leicester forum thinks it's us. Personally, knowing the personalties involved, I can't see our captain complaining to our chairman so it's more likely to be another club.

The said moderator posted this: "Even if managers and players change, having a near record breakingly bad season takes a lot of recovery. When Derby finished with 11 points, they nearly went down again the next year.

Southampton have won 3 in 45 league games. That is a very tough thing to turn around."

He's right about it being tough to turn things around here though, which is why I don't see the point in sacking Will Still so soon. Even though he's made mistakes, like substituting Fellows yesterday, he really needs more time (and a better goalkeeper and centre forward).

Nah, just a picture of a ball! And surely Capt Jack wouldn't do that sort of thing? Oh wait, did he not get dropped yesterday

Well exactly. Our captain who got dropped yesterday complaining. Hmm. And the manager (perhaps rightly so) has been quite honest about conceding rubbish goals, missing easy chances etc. Perhaps he hurt their feelings.

Frankly, I thought that Still was the wrong appointment from day one but if there is any truth in this rumour Stephens ( or any other of our players ) should be ashamed of himself.

Tens of thousands of pounds a week and moaning to the Chairman, what on earth is a matter with these people ?

If it is S F C, despite my reservations concerning his appointment I hope Still sticks at it and teaches them that no player is ever bigger than the club.

As you know, I had exactly the same reservations as you about the manager. I am still not convinced. But to his credit, he made some bold decisions at the weekend, and I think he was right. If Stephens, Harwood-Bellis and some of the others have been told some home truths (rightly so), not to keep making pathetic mistakes, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them have got together and kicked off. They didn't like Juric, and perhaps they don't like being told the truth, so they sulk and down tools. That's how the players are nowadays.

I don''t understand why a manager wouldn't say toa player:
"Look here you arrogant little shite; you only work here and if you don't want to, I shall make sure you don't get anywhere near a bench, let alone a game and I'll block any transfer request or approach from another club until your once promising career goes down the toilet. Now get out."

I find it hard to believe this is us. People say that Jack Stephens is a good chap and well liked, not the sort to do this. That said, do any of us know his true character? Looking at the history, so many managers have picked Stephens to our despair. Perhaps he has a hold of some sort on the club and dressing room, so When Will dropped him, he went off on one. Is that really possible? If so, surely he has to be moved on. We cannot have that kind of influence in the dressing room.

Personally I think it is Norwich. I have heard the players absolutely hate the manager there, Manning I think his name is, without bothering to look it up.

I would add to this that the players on Saturday did not look like a bunch in turmoil. In fact it was our best performance of the season for me.

You can imagine club stalwart Slack didn’t like being dropped
Would he go and complain, maybe, but equally the danger of appointing a manager with, you could say, less experience in football
