I'd live to know if anybody thought Cullen did well today? What did he do? is it worse that while I think Stamenic was poor, Cullen was largely anonymous?
I agree about Stamenic, he's the muscle not the designer, Galbraith is the designer. The midfield three today did very little of any note.
If the thinking today was we're going to get beaten anyway so play a weakened team then I'd question the mentality? We're at home, we have signifucantly strengthened the squad and we should be trying to win our home games, not surrendering before kick off. I really can't see that being the reason. Surely you rest your best players against the weaker teams?
I don't think we went into the game expecting to lose. Sheehan picked a team he thought could get something and it's hard to legislate against two very good goals like that.
The drama queens will insist that we were outplayed but I don't think we were. Last ten minutes or so our heads went maybe, but otherwise we were right in the game until goal #3.
This is what's so frustrating about us at the moment. Despite, for me, having some real quality in the squad we seem perpetually stuck in second gear with performances good enough to beat some teams, but not enough to beat the best.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Today we seemed to revert you the bad days if early last season, with Stamenic playing the role of Matt Grimes - negative backwards passing then sitting between 2 cbs.
Plenty on here pointing out deficiencies as they see themes, Stanenic , Key and how docile we were This is comment Some need to grasp this SOME again turning personal That is what makes SOME happy I can’t think of anyone who’s happy after that but if one is a super fan then you have to seem to never criticise as that would make you a hypocrite
We’ve had a good discussion until… SOMEwhere over the rainbow

Last season after grimes left and we got o'brien we hardly used him or anyone to do what stamenic is doing now, we got the ball forward quickly and created alot more chances that we are doing now.
We have better players than we did last season son why doesn't sheehan play the same way he had us playing last season.

That's the question.
I was pleased that he was prepared to change his usual shape today, just disappointed in who he trusted to play in the new AM role. Hopefully he won't allow himself to be swayed by defeat and stick with it, just with more suitable personnel.

I find it difficult to equate thinking Keicester were the better team to being a drama queen tbh. I definitely think they were the better team. They had much more control of the game, a better knowledge of each other and better individuals. I don’t believe they got out of 2nd gear. You saw after we equalised how immediately and easily they got straight back up the pitch to attack.
It’s no shame though. They’ve been together longer, they were PL last year and their players in many areas superior. It is what it is.

We had more possession and just as many shots on target. I don't think they had more control of the game. They made better use of the ball at times, but we weren't overwhelmed.
One thing that did stand out to me was their movement. When we had the ball we had to look for someone to pass to, which is why we were forced backwards so often. When they had the ball there was usually someone available, often more than one.

it was an entertaining game, we lost to 2 premiership strikes, difference was their passing , quickness and desire to win.
looking at it the away side had more chances than us, we need to be more direct, have a go, our weakness is by playing it our wide all the time to attacking FBs leaving us open, and some of our crossing leaves a lot to be desired. Vip has really improved this season in his all round game.
wprk to be done, but sadly most are away for a week or so,

That’s how I saw it ,we play slowly still and after years of being smacked in the face by it It’s why folks are staying away we can and should be doing better Sorry but Sheehan isn’t the one for me Why? Because he repeats mistakes Still endless sideways backwards passing which makes it easy for opponents to Leicester have hit men but they are vulnerable We could have done better Don’t be afraid ever of giving your opinion UJ When upset , people look to their own kinfolk to insult as it’s easier to ease the pain I read I’m happy at this result Tell that to the puppies I’ve drowned

Agree about their movement and I hope that Sheehan has learnt from this in 1. how to cope with it in future games and 2. how to maybe emulate such tactics. No shame in looking to other teams play for ideas.
What i am p!ssed off about is that wrecsam drew with leicester at leicester on tuesday, surely sheehan and the players would have seen how wrecsam played to get that draw.

I’m hoping he’s learning too but not much sign of it really
In the last 3 games the starting midfield has appeared disjointed with diferent combinations tried, subs have made a diference every time. We need to find our best starting line up, perhaps too much choice and trying to keep everyone happy ?

I agree. My comment about expecting to lose was more because of Shingles post.
I think we are (on paper) good enough quality to be pushing the play offs but yes, we seem stuck in second. My concern is more that maybe Sheehan is feeling the pressure more because he now is where the buck stops. It was easier for him when he was just the caretaker but now he is the gaffer and the owners will be expecting more after backing him a lot more heavily than most of us expected, is he already feeling pressure (even if they haven't said anything) and as a result he's second guessing himself, over thinking and/or being too cautious?

Could well be the case.

Sheehan has been backed very heavily. We can't give that level of backing every season. We are in the same sort of position as we were last season. Why are we not starting with our best 11 in a game against Leicester that coukd have taken us into the top 6. Too early to replace him, but he doesn't get a free pass all season

And now we have drama queens ! naysayers and doom and bloomers have had it easy so far Why in the name of the living Christ do we see such denigration of people who love the same thing Why is this accepted on here It kills duscussion
Sheehan has a solid keeper and two decent centre backs He has two poor defending full backs We have cover at left back but not utilised
Can we say this ?
He has enough options at midfield to have a settled , potent spine and strikers who can score
Pressure? He should be feeling it He’s been backed yet fans still staying away in their thousands
These are the tough questions to be asked not picking out positive sound bites to impress the impressionable
We need to demand more and not accept mediocrity
Leicester were more potent yet we didn’t hurt them as we could have and sideways passing doesn’t do that A shithouse club with fans to match and we made ourselves easy for them

The reason the left back cover is not played is because Tymon is a very good player.

Is it because as caretaker he had nothing to lose but now his job could be on the line? Maybe now he has too many players to choose from and doesnt want to upset some...like Cullen for example. Stamenic looked a great player when he came on against Hull winning the ball and breaking forwards yet since he has shown nome of that is.it because he has been told to play in a certain way?

our three wins this season - are against the current bottom 3...
Maybe the international break has come at the right time.
this seems to be overlooked by many and the faxt many are always balmimg the officials for disaaliwed goals ( which should have stood) ,penealties not given for being where we are....we just beat Sheffield Utd at home who most teams have battered. Despite improving our squad massively from last season tonight we have the same number of points after 9 games with the same results 3 wins 3 draws and 3 losses.....
