Next set of games can’t be the same.

Cravatt is ruthless.

Cravatt may need to seek some advice.

We cannot go changing managers after one bad run.

It is unlikely we will be in a relegation fight.

Another season of consolidation may just be fine. Expectations need to be managed.
The club is a long way off from being prepared for a serious promotion push / being competitive in the premier league. A long way off.

How many times were we in a position to put a ball into the box and then end up on the halfway line ?
Double figures at least. Every game.
Possession is good, but.

Exactly right! I think that drives fans mad more than anything else. We even do it when we are trailing.

I don’t swallow the low wage area argument
If the product is right, people will turn up as it ll be fun
It’s not now
In a word, we are simply boring and that’s why the ground is quiet
When we go forward with purpose , the crowd gets behind the team
Stroking it around distracts
Have a look at the faces with a televised game
Many bored shitless

I expect the head of recruitment already has a data base of prospective candidates.

This post is spot on.

There are quite a few fans who think we should be in the promotion hunt.

I think these people were saying that consolidation is what they expect this season.

How perspectives change 🤔

With the squad we now have I think we should be pushing for promotion. With the investment of the summer I don't think the owners are looking or will be happy with consolidation. Only my opinion of course.

Life moves quickly and can change immediately
Football is part of life and what was good six months ago can often be turned on its head
It’s why nobody is right none of us knows anyone really as that which we know is subjective
Life is about moving and learning
Sheehan doesn’t appear to be
His interviews are also starting to sound predicable like his reaction to the turd goal
Many started the season enthused and excited
Suffice to say that has evaporated in three months
That is not good

Our pre season , seen as irrelevant showed exactly what lay ahead

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

I don't, never have, we have a totally different squad, I knew it would take time, we arent a play off team, yet.

My opinion as well.

bang on the money. mid table mediocrity, if that.

Nothing wrong with that, but the squad we got is capable of much more.

if Sheehan doesn't know his best 11 and keeps on making daft decisions, then i am afraid patience will run out very quick with people.

SgorioFruit out!!!

Like you being a broken record, you love racking up your post count in times like these.

Only happy when we lose, so you have ammunition to moan.

You obviously follow swansea because there are far more downs than ups, it would be boring following liverpool eh.

So you won’t accept my bet then
No surprise
How about doing Keith a favour and sticking to topic without snidely shite
Can you

Others feel as I do .Read the posts READ them

There’s plenty of dissenters out there . Folk pissed off either slow sideways crap and capitulating at the end of games
EOM the best player ? I read that
A player so weak in all he does, tackles , passes , shots at goal all pitiful , all laughable
You need a break seriously as you seem unable to ignore posters you hate

Look after your mental health

Plenty of people pointed out that Eom was one of our best players. You've decided that you hate him based on never having seen him play in the flesh so keep babbling about it like Dustin Hoffman in Rainman.

That's when you're pondering why people don't go to games from your position of never going to games.

It really is difficult at times to understand why you bother. You're clearly not much of a fan of the club, city or country. Why spend your twilight years posting nonsense on a forum of people who mostly think you're an idiot? Haven't you got better things to do on a Sunday afternoon?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

We have a squad that looks stronger on paper than last season but we have taken a lot of experienced out of that team/Squad, we have a younger more skillful squad and we have been competitive in all the games this season but that lack of experience has caused us issues, we ended up with a relatively settled team last season Sheehan had a good idea of players strengths and weaknesses who to play in what instances, he doesn't know his best team yet, how long has that transfer window been closed, he has ditch some of the regulars who were getting in the match day squad, has any of the late arrives shown any level of consistency yet?
That midfield trio needs to be nailed down, we didn't start with our best team yesterday because some players needed a rest, Galbraith has been exceptional but given his work rate in games can he be expected to complete the number of almost 90 minute game that he has so far, Inoussa completed his first extend game time, both were rested possibly with the thought hold out keep it tight in the first instance and then bring on the protected big guns. It worked but again we fell into the trap of over committing defender forward without concentrating on our defensive game.
For the games after the international break will we have the question of resting players or playing the ones on international duty.
For me until we confirm our best 11 then I think we should play who we think is our best eleven and sub them early if they tire.
We cannot have excuses about not playing our players instead of loanees but how can we progress our squad if we ditch our own, it won't be easy to bring our players up to Championship players but team selection seems to be driven by what is expected in the short term rather than looking to the long term. Widell looks a hand full he is no worse than Eom was when he first joined.
Tymon needed resting so we put on loan Samuel -Smith in the match day squad and yet Key looks just as vulnerable but no Parker. End result no development of our own players to enable them get up to speed at Championship level.
All looked very disjointed yesterday, as I was boring the pants off the gentleman seated next to me, pointing out defensive issues, two seats away I could hear another fan was expressing the very same issues he saw to an equalling bored friend, all of us agitated by the gaps we saw appearing.

I know they are different sides, but for me, you always have one, but rarely both of Innoussa and Benson on the pitch at the same time. Maybe for 15 minutes if we’re chasing a game.

Both have enough creativity and directness to open up a defence on their own with a bit of magic, but both are a bit loose and give possession away where opponents can quickly overload on Key or Tymon. I think they do this too often for the amount of actual chances they create.

Both are a breath of fresh air running at defenders though, particularly given our lack of a #10 or any real creativity in central midfield.

Didn't like having Ntcham and Paterson on the pitch at the same time when a defensive control was needed.
The middle of the park is a battle ground we need potent weapons going forward balanced by a solid barrier, when you have quality players that can do both you are very fortunate if you haven't then you need the right balance of players, we haven't worked that out yet.
Both Inoussa and Benson got shut down by the end of the game.

Yes, Ntcham and Paterson is similar. Both at the same time was a problem, but you’d want one of them for the creativity.

Hard to find a balance sometimes

Ntcham wasn't an AM in the same way that Paterson was. He was a box to box type. We could have accommodated both. Indeed they did play together quite a few times during the run in of the 22/23 season.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I couldn’t face coming in here last night so I prepped the Sunday dinner after 6 pints instead. I came away from the game feeling like we’d had a bit of a going over towards the end. They were definitely quaillity I think this though was the first time they’d clicked properly this season- just our luck.

They were bigger and more dynamic than us and that wins you a lot of marginal refereeing decisions. They broke superbly and their one touch passing was excellent on times. Obviously it helps when you have a good squad because of the money you’ve spent (illicitly) but I expected a lot more from us.

Sheehan’s weird obsession with hooking Vipotnik is really wearing on me now. He was excellent again yesterday and his hold up play was bringing others into the game and causing Leicester some problems. Idah came on, scored the penalty then nothing. That lack of ball retention enabled them to dominate us and they played a master game exposing Key time and again to their pacy 16 year old winger .

It’s been mentioned that Stamenic was negative and we have all seen what he can do but was he acting under strict orders? He must have because I know he is a much more effective and more importantly for yesterday aggresive player too. Him with Galbraith in front and Yalcouye as the midfield three would have fared better IMHO.

Fair play to Eom he had a good game but I think play your best winger and that’s Inoussa. Benson is not the player he was but in fairness he came on with Key struggling behind him.

Their first 2 goals were superb and I thought we had our good spells but the selection seemed a bit off and that’s down to the manager. He should have been drilling into the lads all week that this was a real opportunity to make their mark in the division but we crapped ourselves instead and in truth it could have been more. At least Sheehan wasnt stupid enough to play 2 up front - it’s ok if you start going long and win your second balls in a more industrial style of football (which is ok to mix it up at times) but with our midfield already overrun it could have been 5 or 6 goals against us. Let’s hope lessons are being learned - I’m not sure they are though unfortunately.

I did say when playing together when defensive control was needed , Ntcham also played in a defensive role with Grimes within twenty minutes he was moved further forward, Ntcham was as much an advance midfielder as Paterson, in some situations in games different combinations work, some situations they don't. Sheehan has to figure what our strengths and weaknesses are.

Both Ntcham and Piroe played together in their earlier games with us, one played on the right and the other as a number 10 it did not work. Not the right combination both need players to supply movement and ball to them which they couldn't do for each other in those positions, it was changed to something that did work, add Paterson to that mix meant we struggle to defend from the front with the defensive midfield sitting so deep when put under pressure.

All four players gone, new team, new combinations to be tried, Sheehan very cautious initially with team selection, we will see if he can get the attacking and defensive elements in the team right, tactically and players wise, hoping he can get things right more often than not.

Swansea City v Leicester City : Match day thread on 21:05 - Oct 5 by sons_of_omri

We won the penalty because of the pressure we put on them, we thought we would go on to win after but we lbecame careless and got punished as we did for the first.
Yes they worked us and got us out of shape but so have other teams, they just did it better. We have to make sure we don't get pulled out of shape by having teams playing through us because of our poor defensive play.
