Is it because as caretaker he had nothing to lose but now his job could be on the line? Maybe now he has too many players to choose from and doesnt want to upset some...like Cullen for example. Stamenic looked a great player when he came on against Hull winning the ball and breaking forwards yet since he has shown nome of that is.it because he has been told to play in a certain way?
I dont know if you remember but we were quite close to the relegation places when he took over.
Imo he trusted o'brien and now he should trust galbraith, there are some games where we shouldn't play stamenic or get him to travel forward now and again, tbe midfield need mixing up.

Sheehan has been backed very heavily. We can't give that level of backing every season. We are in the same sort of position as we were last season. Why are we not starting with our best 11 in a game against Leicester that coukd have taken us into the top 6. Too early to replace him, but he doesn't get a free pass all season
Next set of games can’t be the same.
Cravatt is ruthless.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Totally agree. They haven't spent that level of money to drift in mid-table. The return on investment comes from bigger crowds and at least play offs places. They maybe tempted by a bigger name.

I do remember.....but thata the problem so many who were peed iff with Williams .....and thank Sheehan for "resceuing " us ....but how do we not know Williams might have done the same? And so are givimg Sheehan a free pass....we have the same number of points ,and same distributoon of results as this time last year. Sheehan is not utilising his squad to the best of its abilities has made the same mistakes again and again with selectiins and tactics....the win against Forest has won him some support yes a great result but he had nithing to lose I winder what would have happened had we gone 1 up? i m sorry but Sheehan is not the man ro take us forward

You want him gone after 9 games?
Do you have Greek heritage by any chance?

Where have I said i want him gone? All I am saying is Im not sure he is the man to get us where we want to be I think under him we will survive in this league but am nit cinvinced he has what it is to maximise our potentual...based on his decision making to date. As of tonight his record this season is nk different to that if Williams last season though we have conceded mire goals...despite a better squad......

People hide behind ambiguity. They like to pretend that they haven't committed to anything whilst hiding behind copouts like "he isn't the man to take us forward".
It's basically cowardice. Say what you think or keep quiet.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Its not ambiguos..... I dont want him sacked as we have had too.muxh turmoil......but I have tried to explain why I am not convimced about him. Im previous posts I stated that I hope he learned from the miatakes he made v Watford and Hull but he diesnt seem to be. But i get it certain opinions are not allowed.
Its.like you and the what dis yoy call him the Ponty goblin.......the only manager since relegation to get us anywhere near promotion .but you thoughr he was crap

Agree, for most of the game we played with 5 at the back, with Stamenic sitting in front of the back four. A waste of a talented international player, playing the “Fulton” role. He needs to be further up the pitch, utilising his passing skills, plus his physicality would be more than useful in midfield.

bang on the money. mid table mediocrity, if that.
Nothing wrong with that, but the squad we got is capable of much more.
if Sheehan doesn't know his best 11 and keeps on making daft decisions, then i am afraid patience will run out very quick with people.

Another game when expectations raised after the equaliser only to fall away money pissrs people off more than that I have no Greek heritage
However it’s a case of folk not wanting to be seen to panic rather than keeping Sheehan We’re afraid of getting shot so soon and hoping he comes good And hope this
He is not leaning
He has been backed like no other coach we’ve had and it’s fine to him to deliver
If we could afford or able to pay him off and bring in AN Other, he would soon be forgotten I believe the job is beyond him He did a great job as a caretaker but this is a different job entirely
And inter fan itching doesn’t help
There again LFC fans already turning on Slot because of the backing he’s been given

The game is about having a control of the impetus of the play, in the first twenty they fought to comtrol the game, getting control of the ball by being solid in their defence keeping things tight as we pressed they committed players into the gaps we left over committing down the flanks leaving the middle uncontested, disjointed and disfunctional, while they changed their points of attack quickly we were left floundering in a quandary do we press or not?
We in contrasted did not get tight in our defensive preformance, Leicester when having pressure applied by us up top had outlets, players allow to turn or they were allowed to pass the ball forward unchallenged, they got runners and support players up the pitch into positions that gave the player on the ball options.yes we often slowed them down and yes they scored nice goals but better teams ensure those players who scored are crowded out and not allowed the room to shoot.Really at times our players and set up in games is too passive in defence and midfield, what a difference it made with the changes Leicester so called better players out fought in all areas of the pitch, they didn't have time to pick their passes to get themselves out of trouble but after we scored we thought we had won the game we allowed them to find players in space again remaining unchallenged why because we lost our defensive shape that had allowed us to attack with the right challenges of the player on the ball. We became that headless chicken again as we were at times in the first half.
Last year's home game against Cardiff, the two halves of play were indicative of what was wrong and what was right yesterday and a number of games this season and in the past seasons , what was right about how we setup and countered their play in the first half but in the second they changed things but we kept trying the same thing to counter their chamges. Leicester changed things as we pressed high they went long or found space in the middle moving us about until we lost our defensive shape exactly what we did to Leicester at times, one size does not fit all but get our defensive shape right and adapt it to different parts of the game, opposition teams stung by an equaliser are not going to do the same as they would being one nil up, they are going to change things.
It is experience on the pitch is lacking with us at the moment making teams look better and more threatening than they should be, different tactics and setups must be used during tight games but you cannot afford to give opposition players time on the ball unchallenged as we so often do being stuck in one of modes 1, 2 or 3.

Good analysis I defy anyone not to be apprehensive when wide men are running at Key and Tymon I defy anyone to justify the gall being passed slowly , sideways and backwards even when behind This is why people have walked

We should never have set up with the players/formation we did. We needed to go from 4-1-4-1 to 4-2-3-1 much sooner with Franco dropping back to help Stamenic with Cullen advanced. Better still would have been take Cullen off bring Galbraith on alongside Stamenic with Franco advanced. Poor set up and player selection in my opinion.

It not just Sheehan, it is a plethora of managers who get suck into the possession based football supposedly al la Spanish teams of old, the Arsene Wenger Arsenal, Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool football which is seemingly compulsory with the new rules with regards to goal kicks, but the only reason for the possession football is to isolate opposition players if you press too high oppositions attackers get one on ones which are exposed with the quick long balls that the teams mentioned all employ to give their quality players an edge the space they need. The plethora of managers who can't hold onto a lead, getting closed down in their own box with slow predictable football or the constant attempt of hundred miles an hour desperation of attacking football, possession football is about possession of the football where it is going to hurt teams and ensuring no-one can hurt you. The sooner you have control of the ball the sooner you can hurt teams but you have to turn that possession into quick incisive play not playing into opposition hands.

Completely agree - it's frustrating to watch and bores the p/ss out of me to the point I lose interest in a lot of televised games these days. Possession for the sake of it is mind numbing and perhaps that in itself is a reason so many have stayed away. Football fans want to be excited and get bangs for their bucks - see individual flair, take risks, beat the defender, whip in a cross, have a frigging shot not sh/t out and pass it ten yards back. Iesu mawr it's football not chess...

Spot on there and we see it every game but no changes made , yesterday was the perfect example,we’ve gone back to the needless sideways and backwards passing of past coaches, people around me yesterday were pulling their hair out with it ,so frustrating and aimless.Stamenic looked a shadow of the player we first signed,no movement and looking like he didn’t want the ball at all and what’s with this ‘play Cullen at all costs ‘thing , can’t see a position for him in our formation , he wouldn’t get in any other championship team starting 11,so why does Sheehan and previous managers ,it has to be said ,keep pushing him, It is down to Sheehan and he needs to learn fast and be prepared to change things and quickly, because every manager in the championship can see what our main weaknesses are now and you can bet they will be working on exploiting them

How many times were we in a position to put a ball into the box and then end up on the halfway line ? Double figures at least. Every game. Possession is good, but.

Very similar issues we had against Leicester the last game we had at home against. they exploited the channels between the full backs and centre halves creating space for both. The second half we didn't give them that but then did. Leon Britton didn't sit back that often except in exceptional circumstances he made himself available and got us going through the middle of the park, similar to O'Brien last season when the avenues of play on the flanks stalled as it did yesterday at times.
