Very poor, especially with their keepers time wasting.

What I didn't understand was the booking for RND for diving, certainly didn't look like a dive and there was contact. I don't think it deserved deserve a booking anyway.

I feel like he was getting his card out to book the defender but after realising he had already been booked he felt it didn't warrant a red so booked RND instead. I'm probably adding 1 + 1 and getting 3.

I think he added x 2 for the keepers actual time wasted

Thought he was ok-ish compared to some weve had

Entirely agree -Ref realised that a second yellow for the defender had to be a red so chickened out. It was a foul but the only way he could evade scrutiny for the missed red card was to act out the pretence that he didn't see the original foul...not my fault gov!

To be fair to the ref he knew that the keeper was faking it and told him a few times to get up and get on with it but when he didn’t and still claimed he was ‘injured’ he had no choice but to stop the game. And he did add a good few minutes later n which we failed utterly to do anything with.

Totally one sided to us first half, opposite the second half. Maybe some Wallll stone island boys had a word at half time. How the hell he only got 4 mins for the first half when Lluongo alone was a good 6 without the trainer for the other one.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Exactly how I saw it. Called it in the first half. You just knew he’d come out and give us nothing second half. Happens a lot.

The main problem was we didn’t score when so heavily on top in the first half an hour. You have to score when on top. We somehow didn’t and then proceeded to go in 2-0 down at HT. Second half was always going to be hard work with less from the ref and Millwall trying to shithouse.

Thought he was ok for this division, which is faint praise but can't think the result was effected.

Not up to this level at this stage of his career unfortunately. Gave some weird and wonderful stuff all afternoon.

The ref was so poor in allowing fouls go without a booking, quite a few,

Millwall were no worse than we have been re wasting time and nothing major really (the keeper injury was annoying though!!). He did add 8 minutes.

Overall, I thought he was pretty average.

Think most refs would’ve given them more cards first half. Don’t recall thinking we were getting the rub of the green particularly other than Madsen possibly being booked for a trip early on but he more than balanced that out. Was like he was wary of giving us too many free kicks / cards to them and just wanted to shut them up for a bit by playing on.

I need to go and re-read the offside law when it comes to defenders making a deliberate play for the ball and it going to an attacker. Honestly it’s changed enough times I can’t remember if some of those calls were right or wrong.

Being a linesman must be a nightmare with the offside rules these days.

Think it was Burrell on both occasions, offside if the ball had reached him, it didn’t, got intercepted but when the defender controlled it and played it to his keeper and Burrell went after it, gave offside.

Even more bizarre, Burrell in an offside position nearer half way, again got intercepted, then about three passes later from team to team, it eventuality came to Burrell and he was flagged again!

Watching on the stream here, we thought there was a blatant penalty on Kone in the first half. Had it been anywhere else on the pitch it would have been a foul

The booking for RND was a joke.

Very poor overall. Some good decisions in the early part of the game but allowed repetitive fouling by Millwall to carry on too long before the card came out.

He seemed to lose the plot completely after the RND 'diving' booking. As Hunter said, he seemed to cave in to their complaints about every incident and we got nothing from him after that.

Agree. Clearly a push in the back of Kone.

I thought so too, but don't know what view of it he'd have had with the box being quite crowded.

Clear peno.

Haven't seen any footage of Smyth's supposed elbow or of the stamping or of the possible peno for Saito.

The second Burrell offside was a real headscratcher.

I understand when the ball is initially played forward and a player is offside but challenges for the ball in an onside position, he is given offside due to his position on the first passage of play.
This one had the ball travelling both forward and back while he was onside, which surely means the original offside no longer applied.

I thought that was a pen too. It was a deliberate foul to stop a clear goalscoring opportunity. If that's not a pen then we can just barge anyone every time they go to shoot. I get the ref maybe couldn't see but surely the lino could?

The real frustration with both penalty incidents is he gave stuff like that as a free kick every single time. Millwall picked up a booking for a “foul” on Kone that looked a very obvious dive to me. Everything single thing is a foul until we cross the line into the box at which point do what you like.

On reflection, if this was seen as a foul against Millwall could this stamp not subsequently be dealt with resulting in a 3 match ban for Mbengue?

Lino on the wrong side to see if it was a legitimate shoulder barge, probably. I was watching the stream, thought it looked dodgy, then saw the replay and thought 'definitely '. But the ref didn't have that luxury, and I don't want him to have that luxury!
