| Smyth’s elbow 08:11 - Oct 19 with 4074 views | dannyblue | Off the ball again. After he didn’t get a foul. Retrospective ban again? Ref didn’t see it. Stopped the game for a throw in. But game restarted with a free kick? Odd. [Post edited 19 Oct 8:43]

| Smyth’s elbow on 09:15 - Oct 19 with 3317 views | Lblock | He might’ve left a bit on the fella after being kicked about all lunchtime but I’m not calling that a deliberate elbow Love Smythy’s attitude and great that he’s a chippy little fckr at times I’d be more concerned on Mbengue’s stamp to be honest He’s kin mental that fella | |

On the stream you could see that the ref didn't give a free, but then gave it after one of the Marxist Hunters complained.

Isn’t that a good thing then? I don’t remember but if the game restarted with a freekick for this incident then it means the ref saw it. If he saw it he didn’t deem it violent….. Nice No retrospective action

Imagine my relief not to see the sawn-off coming out of the 'wall dugout. Just glad he and their keeper, who also looked like it was going to be a mercy to put him out of his misery, both recovered and will now get to spend Christmas with their families. Honestly, we're such brutes!

Yes I thought their keeper might have had to have one or both legs amputated as he looked in such tremendous pain after we scored our goal. Thank goodness for the supernatural powers of the magic sponge.

I didn't need to see a stream to know that he hadn't given a free kick at the time. Watching it at the ground told us that! I don't know, but suspect that he might have changed his mind after seeing marks on the Millwall players face. Being present or watching a stream wouldn't tell you if that was the case, but he can change his decision until the game has been restarted.

I noticed the two medics who ran onto the pitch didn't even attempt to massage the keeper's leg to alleviate any cramp. They just knelt down beside the incapacitated keeper and healed him through the medium of prayer. Hallelujah.

I didn't even see the alleged elbow in the slo-mo replay. All I saw was Smyth brush into the player as he walked by him and the player doing the usual screaming and rolling about to suggest he'd been stabbed. That said, it is incredibly dumb, stupid and petulant of Smyth to make deliberate and avoidable contact with a player. Literally every game now I see EFL refs giving decisions based on screams and reactions or after a player falls over when it's obvious the ref could not see the incident due to their position. Their default position seems to be if in doubt, blow the whistle. Ironically it's usually one of those short half-hearted "toots" on the whistle too. Anyway, with that sort of refereeing you simply can't be doing anything brainless and unnecessary.

The two physios looked like two film extras going through the motions. Pretending to look concerned and making small talk . Pathetic beyond belief. Still we do it as well so no point in being hypocritical about it . If it’s not a head injury. The ref should tell their captain to get an outfield player to take the goal keep and the keeper stays in the ground. Pretty certain the keeper would soon get up . Health and safety probably doesn’t allow that though .

When the keeper has 'recovered' the opposition should select one of the keeper's team mates to leave the pitch for the regulation time. I think that the time should be increased from 30 seconds to 1 minute in the second half.

Why has this not been done before. This is up there with the Refs white line spray as a game changer. Cracking idea. Presumably you'd have to nominate a number of players before kickoff to serve the time out, as otherwise they'd waste even more time discussing it.

They did actually spray the back of his leg a bit, but didn't bother taking his sock down first, so not sure it would have been that effective
