Stands on three sides, no strikers, no hope.

Going to be a hard sludge through the poop tomorrow with a packed away end. Got tickets with the boy, but about 5 rows apart, so may have to stoop to the "we sit where we want" types.

Dreading it.

Feels like a routine 2-0 home win with little more than a whimper from our decimated team with an utterly offensive offence.

Can we go out yet?

Just in case any of you missed this pearler last night…

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Cifuentes’ job interviews this summer will just be sitting the clubs down and showing them that game. A bunch of slop, who, whilst Oxford are extremely limited, were well drilled, knew their jobs and for the most part all got stuck in at a level missing in the last few weeks.

We were already safe (imo) but now everyone can hopefully relax. Delighted for Cifuentes that he could get such a nice send-off too. He has really fallen for our daft club.

Well nothing is certain at QPR, especially when the club is so prone to wild swings from triumph to disaster, often within a one week period, and driven entirely by fan sentiment.

Nourry wants him gone though and Cifuentes is quite happy to get away from him. People who know more than me believe that there is an agreement on a managed separation this summer, last I heard was that he would resign on his own terms. His agent spent the last international break on maneuvers with other clubs and it feels that it’s really just a case of who ‘wins’ the circumstances of the breakup.

If what you are saying is true then it isn’t him out of the two who should be going. I have zero faith in Nourry to find a replacement who is anything like as good and is anything other than a “yes man.”

Quite.

This has been on the cards for some time and is what a number of us have been warning about.

Nourry is the problem. Cifuentes could/should be a big part of a solution.

What a relief!

Got home at the 65th minute to see they’d pulled a goal back and crosses raining in one after another. Expected the worst but quality run and pass from Dembele and the type of finish from Yang which, let’s be honest, we don’t really possess in our own squad, finally got us over the line. Loved the celebrations at the corner flag.

We’ve actually been more consistent this season than any other season I’ve witnessed, can’t beat any of the top 8, beat virtually all of the bottom 7. That is unusual for us.

Don’t think we’ve fielded a full strength side once this entire season. That makes this team very difficult to define.

I’m actually more hopeful for next season. Whereas in recent years we haven’t had a bench that can come in and do any kind of meaningful job, now we have. The problem has been they’ve spent too much time on the pitch due to the many injuries. Who knows what goes on beyond the pitch but we need to sort out why we get so many non contact injuries. We know the area we are weak, we have to play a system that’ll suit Dembele, play through him. And god knows we need a reliable centre forward who knows this Division.

It’ll probably go wrong but we’re not that far away plus it’ll be another crap league next year.

I was on a flight so only managed to catch the very opening minutes then the last few (plus 11! minutes injury time) and yet I still managed to witness two goals! Never expected that from the starting lineup so I was a very happy lad

Shit but local

Well, this club never ceases to amaze me .
That team was a dogs dinner. Yet somehow we scored 3!!! I didn’t think we’d get 3 by the end of the season.
Let’s not forget that Oxford were utterly shocking especially in that first half .

But we dug in tonight . Everybody dug in and scrapped and fought . It was like the medical room backstage at the Somme by the end so god knows who will play Saturday , Field will definitely miss Bristol City and Paal thought he needed another away day sit down as soon as they put on a 6 foot right winger . Up to their goal I thought he did ok. Smyth limped off and even Yang limped off at full time .

But i was impressed with Edwards and Morrison . Starting to think that they could steal the player of the season award by the end . Morrison for his record and Edwards simply because he has been class. Both were great .
Colback and Varane battled and hustled and broke up so much .
Felt for Bennie. Just no match for enormous centre backs but was a nuisance and I think he already has a good football brain. Yang looked like Warwick Davis up there in comparison but it’s a smart finish which caused amazing celebrations. To see Marti and Xavi running down to the corner flag to celebrate with their players was quite special I thought .
Word is he will walk away in the summer before they can push him. If that’s the case then I hope he goes somewhere and smashes it. He’s made quite a few mistakes recently and he ain’t nothing like a perfect coach , but to get us to safety (fingers crossed ) from where we were in November , with that squad is a pretty remarkable achievement.
The injuries have been nothing short of shocking and they continue to fall around him, but Marti was given ..an utterly lopsided, slow, weak, unphysical squad . He sent a message tonight .
But for once it was a great to see us ‘doing a job’ on someone else.

Just to end . A little word for Madsen.
He did nothing special . Still drove me mad a couple of times . But he engaged, got stuck in. Played a few nice touches and passes and most importantly contributed to a victory I thought we deserved.
The bar is so low it’s beyond belief .
But good for him. I still think there is a player in there somewhere .

Bigger worries to come but I feel chuffed to get that win tonight

Hoping Marti doesn’t walk . Not sure what he’s supposed to do with the squad in its present state.
No strikers fit , two of our more creative players out injured or suspended.
The money we had to spend has been spent on a striker who couldn’t score for half a season and was injured for the other half . As for Madsen , decent last night but one swallow don’t make a summer.
Question is do we get a Rowett or an Alex Niell type in ?
Would they do any better than Marti under the circumstances? I doubt it.
He’s not perfect. We were poor for the first third of the season and we , the fans saved his bacon on that one .
Contract situations have been poorly handled as well . Must get better on that score.

Agreed with all of that. Was definitely worried at 2-1 but we held on and got that third goal.

Really hope Marti doesn't walk but I'm sure a middling Championship team will make an offer over the summer and he will go.

Marti reacted after the game with a passion I've not seen before. He was bouncing, doing the Klopp rhythmic fist punches to the crowd, and banging his fist to his heart. If stuff has been getting him down, he really didn't show it last night.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Well a number of times now Lassel has explained that his wife has a very senior position at Hammarby, is in charge of the finances or something along those lines. He also said that his wife is very good friends with Martis wife or partner I'm not sure if he's actually married, so it appears the information is coming via the ladies, it may be as good friends on WhatsApp who knows.

Apologies if I have got that wrong but like you I was very sceptical initially but a lot of what he says does seem to ring true.....

from the off we were at it, got an early goal, pressed chased and the whole team put in a shift, then 2-0 and wallop we have lift off.
of course oxford had a go 2nd half and injuries piled up for both, but as filed was off the pitch, oxford made subs, we didnt and they got one back as we were down to ten players. that lifted them, they came at us and the ref clearly changed and became a homer , as the clock counted down more stops more injures . on 85 i decamped to try and get back to station , as scrambling inot a cab, long stroy but we move on, massive cheer, we thought 2-2? as i looked across i saw the qpr end bouncing , yes 3-1
