Quick comment! on 17:10 - Apr 12 with 5026 views | jonahwhereru | Southend have got it all to do now. 4 points plus goal difference down with only 4 games to play. Alty play us at home which could be a last throw of the dice for them so that will be tough. Looking up not down a home playoff spot is within our grasp.
Quick comment! on 17:19 - Apr 12 with 4958 views | Shun | I can’t see a match thread but I note from following on Twitter that TAR assisted three goals today. When’s the last time a Dale player got a hat-trick of assists?

Quick comment! on 17:28 - Apr 12 with 4864 views | 442Dale | Good win against a poor Eastleigh side. A noticeable change in tactical approach as well. The keeper probably kicked it long more today than the rest of the season combined. Something had to change, and today it did. Of course, it’s whether it’s now how we’ll play going forward. Edwards makes a real difference in midfield. So confident in his own ability.

Quick comment! on 17:38 - Apr 12 with 4780 views | isitme | Impressive performance today. We took care of business well and it probably should have been more. Lots of impressive performances and a welcome clean sheet. Hopefully no more injuries and nearly a full weeks rest. Edwards did well, especially his involvement in the fourth goal. He looks a much better option than Weston.
Quick comment! on 17:47 - Apr 12 with 4713 views | Daley_Lama | 1.7K John Mcleans today rewarded by a result few would have forecast. For first 10 minutes we were very much under the cosh as Eastleigh went offensive- as Aldershot know that’s not the way to play agsinst us. 3 assists for Tobi today, great performance. Say it quietly but EELs was awesome at the back, leader, encouraging, dominant in the air etc. A result that is as good for the head and heart as it is for the eyes on the league table.

Weston is a different type of midfielder I think. He has not performed badly but Edwards has been eye catching as a much more creative force. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Another feature of his play is he’s not afraid to hook the ball on when required. There was a lot more simplicity in how we performed today, the EEL point being a further example.

Gateshead 2-0 up at Forest Green is the only disappointing score so far. However it does show that the play offs could be wide open with no outstanding side in there.
Quick comment! on 18:41 - Apr 12 with 4245 views | TalkingSutty | There was a moment in that first half were i witnessed something that i haven't seen all season, a Dale player riding two or three challenges and showing passion, fight and desire. Well done Aiden Barlow. To be honest everybody put a shift in today from the first whistle, challenged not only for the first ball but also the second and most importantly they kept the ball moving all the time. Henderson was class, his movement was great and so was his finish for the goal. Allarakhia also put a great shift in and Rowlands was involved in three of the goals. EEL didn't put a foot wrong and defended well. Credit to McNulty tonight also, thats only fair, he sent out a team that played with energy and kept it up all game. Being consistently inconsistent is what causes the frustration, the fans know that the players are a lot better than what we've been seeing, find some consistency now and we can still have a exciting end to the season. We go out to win all games starting at Altrincham next Friday and we play with high tempo and attack teams. We can't have more first half performances like we saw last week and we need to now start winning our away matches. So today was a good day and a play off place is now looking very achievable. Quick comment! on 18:46 - Apr 12 with 4206 views | tony_roch975 | Agree Eastleigh were poor after the first 10 mins but on the other hand 3 of ours had their best games in a while - Beckwith was back on form after several below par performances, calm, won his battles and made some great long passes over the opposing full back; EEL (as Daley Lama said) was totally dominant and made some great passes through the middle; Allarakhia for the first time in ages got past his full back and got crosses in regularly - looked to me like he was making up for that missed penalty. And we do miss TAR - his link up with Gordon makes so much happen and today Barlow played closer to him and they harried and won 2nd balls excellently; And Henderson looks like a reborn player - seems to work well with Rodney, leading the press, winning defensive headers, scoring - maybe it's McNulty's clever business end of the season tactic?? But football is a funny old game - we seemed to have all the run of the ball today - every 50:50 ended up with us, the own goal, the deflected goal, even Hendo and Barlow's misses didn't come back to bite us ... unlike last Saturday [Post edited 15 Apr 11:46]

Nearly 500 season card holders failed to turn up today. We know all about the walking football, constantly passing the ball between defenders, players standing still with their foot on the ball, throwing games away near the end of games and not winning away from home in the league since last year. It's still poor though when you deliberately choose to not support the club. The first half display against Spennymoor did it for me and McNulty, it made my mind up in respect of his suitability to manage our club. He sent his team out to start a game like that in one of the most important games in the clubs history and persevered with it for half of the game with no attempt to change it. We've seen that 'display' numerous times before, he thinks he's managing the game but he's not, he's ruining the afternoon for everybody. So he's cooked his goose with me. It hasn't crossed my mind to stop attending games though and i haven't considered not renewing my season cards in the summer. Managers come and go, so will McNulty. I'd urge everybody to return next week and support the club, sometimes we get a decent performance like today. [Post edited 12 Apr 21:06]

Quick comment! on 20:46 - Apr 12 with 3510 views | mikehunt | Fantastic performance today - no tippy-tappy whatsoever. Shows what you can do when you play footie properly. And shows last weeks first half performance up for the absolute shambles it was. We now know our new keeper can make saves - made two crackers today. He can also spray the ball long and find a player but the jury's still out whether he means it or not :-) ) Was listening to Radio Noblot on the way in and they had Keef and Sam Allardyce on both endorsing Gary Neville's slagging off of "pointless possession" football, saying it was too boring to watch and turning people away from football. Maybe the tide is turning. Now we just need Jim to carry on playing like we did today and, hopefully, results will see the benefit. Come back you lapsed Daley's: season's not over just yet.

Quick comment! on 21:12 - Apr 12 with 3367 views | EllDale | Today showed how much Tobi was missed last week. Eastleigh made the mistake of not doing their homework on Tobi and Tarryn. Once the latter finds himself one on one with the fullback and in a bit of space he can run riot. Their manager tinkered a bit at halftime and reorganised the defence but BJ made a smart tactical move in swapping the wingbacks. Credit him for that. Either by design or accident Jim has hit on a potent combination upfront. Having said both Hendo and Barlow squandered glorious chances which normally you would expect them to bury. If Mitchell had missed those he would have had some stick on here. Credit the keeper too. I had a bit of a downer on him but he made some decent saves today and his distribution was much better. As for the gate - it didn’t help that the away following was negligible. Were there 30 of them at the most. In comparison there were 1400 home fans at Halifax who roundly booed the team off the pitch. They’ve scored one goal in six games and haven’t had a shot on target for their last two home matches.
Quick comment! on 21:21 - Apr 12 with 3337 views | Sandyman | A shame so many season ticket holders missed out by deciding not to attend today, but you can't blame them, especially after the Spennymoor debacle. It's a results business. Instead of messing about, as we have done far too often, Dale did what was required to get a good result. You can't fault that. More of the same please to vanquish the doubters, me included!

We counted 12 away fans from the Sandy. But I believe there was one more than that.

Just listened to McNultys interview, he thinks our performances have been good enough. He wasn't asked about no away wins since last year, or the missing 500 season card holders who can't stomach watching it. It's like none of it really matters and if you just ignore it, nobody will mention it. He can't even admit that some of the performances have been unacceptable. [Post edited 12 Apr 21:45]
