Strikeforce next season.. 20:53 - Apr 22 with 1977 viewsPdog

As it stands, assuming they all stay, how would we feel about starting the season with the following strikers and save some £££ to strengthen elsewhere:

Frey
Kolli
Kelman
Celar

(Lloyd out on loan)

We only ever play 1 up top, and often how we play just wont suit Kolli, Celar or Kelman so that could be an issue.

Frey proven he can score at this level (and also miss plenty of games).
Kolli who can also play deeper has shown potential and also bagged a few.
Celar & Kelman would be the gamble as feel they would need extended game time to get in the groove yet so would anyone new coming in.

Kelman & Dykes up front.

If you’re starting with that forward line, you’d be lucky to even get Big Sam willing to take on the job.

Frey is the only Champ forward for me there.
Kolli is an Inverted LW for me.

We are not sure if Kelman can do it and Celar will need a whole season of improvements to convince me.

We need another N9 as cover for Frey, as we need that hold-up player when we cannot break the press.

zzzzzzzzzz

If we have those options it is not the end of the world for me - it partly depends on who we have as the attacking midfielders as the analysis has indicated that goals will also be required to come from other areas.

I believe Kelman has been playing lone striker in a 4231. Don’t know how orient play to his strengths or if we could replicate.

I hope Kelman gets a chance but we'll need to sign another forward probably 2, if we can manage to sell Celar even better and I think Frey will go this summer

I wouldn't call it a force exactly, but that line up should be fine if we can get De Bruyne in to supply them.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Frey can play 40 minutes at a time.

Looking forward to Kelman coming back but wouldn't be surprised if the lunatics sold him and signed Chris Martin because Nourry's laptop identified a fat lad in Bristol.

I think we wiil need another big striker who can hold the ball up, ideally with pace, though our Budget may make that difficult. We have only Frey as a sort of hold up striker if he stays, and historically he's not going to be fit often enough. Kolli, Cellar and Kelman aren't going to be hold up type strikers, and Lloyd isn't good enough yet at least.

You’d hope for a better season from Chair wouldn’t you, assuming he’s not litter picking Belgian motorways anymore.

It's nowhere near good enough

Frey - Can't play 90 minutes
Kolli - A teenager who isn't really a striker
Kelman - Never done it at this level and could just be having a hot streak at Orient
Celar - Played 1/2 a season in England and looked awful doing so

Think Marti only wants two identical centre forwards who can stand in for each other if injury strikes.

Under the circumstances, Kolli better off finding another club and Kelman best hope he can be the other identical centre forward or he’ll be on his way.

Guess Celar was meant to be the sub in that roll but I’m not sure I can face another season of watching him floundering about.

I was surprised to see he was top 5 in the division for assists per 90. Hopefully he’ll be much more available next season.

Need at least one more striker, probably two.

Would sadly wave goodbye to Frey given his awful fitness record (and alleged high wages).

We need to spend the majority of our budget on a striker......

Stick with what we ready have for a settled and safe season in mid table.

You are convinced we will have a new manager next season aren't you?! ;p

I know you are ITK, but can we have a bet that next season Marti is in charge?
Just a fiver

Weirdly, CM is more important than the strike force for me.

We need to be able to play 433 with a 10 in that 3 to make our forward line work better - our inability to play 2 in the middle has been holding us back since Warburton's time

Yeah he’s our best player far and above IMO and if we get 40 games out of him then we’ll have a good season no matter who is up front.

He’s 27, and if you believe football cliches, at his his peak.

When you put it like this you're not really selling it to me :)

Never knowingly right.

If you're using 'never done it at this level' as a criterion, how are there any players playing anywhere?
