Yeah it’s next week apparently

No-one is listening Mart...

IT IS THE 28th APRIL THIS YEAR - church stuff - they do not like it to be so close to Easter....

Can we go out yet?

What?

"He was actually Greek"
"He was actually an Arab"
"You're just a bunch of gammon far right w@nker$"

Or all of the above

I saw a new one of these today….apparently St George is the patron saint of skin disorders and syphillis. Some people love to hate the traditions of their own country. I’ve never celebrated St George’s day but this resentment towards anything English is a bit weird.

I worked for an engineering firm once. There was a bloke called Ted Bunce who had a big St George's flag on his bench April 23rd.
He would sing Onward Christian Solidiers, but he always put an H at the start of words starting with a consonant. So it was “ honward Christian soldiers, marching has to war”
Don't suppose it would be allowed these days.

Hinteresting, I was very pally with a family from Kenton by the name of Bunce back in the day. No Ted though, John the dad, Steve, Andy and Greg.

My favourite St George’s Day tradition is talking about how you can’t celebrate St George’s Day. I’m sure plenty of pubs are. People will be having some form of celebration at home. Most won’t and that’s fine.

Yes this ridiculous siege mentality that happens with some people each year. Tends to be the same individuals that spend the rest of the year ranting about immigrants on facebook, how Christmas is being banned etc.

Get out and celebrate in a joyful way if you want to, nobody will mind. No reason at all why it cannot be just like St Patrick's day. The Irish have plenty of immigration issues too and yet it doesn't seem to affect their celebrations.

Happy St Georges day, and maybe you can celebrate twice if the "official" date has moved this year.

There should be only one Saint who gets to have two Saint’s days and that’s St. Spackman.

I think he was a Turkish . St Patrick was a taff … There probably all fairy tales anyway.

Grimm news indeed.
