Jumpers on shoulders. Says it all really.

Never knowingly right.

Something we should copy . Batman close and the A40 will look splendid from a great height.

Only a brief mention for the rooftop pool:

Isn't that a bit too Marie Antionette even for Tarquin and Rupert.

I felt a bit ill reading that.

The last time I read something that condescending towards football fans was in a rugby union article. The piece was as snobbish as the venue it describes.

I think the Sun did a pretty good job on looking down on fans back in the eighties and they weren’t the only ones.

That's a lot more ludicrous than I'd been keeping track of, e.g. I had to read this twice:

'A grand piano is ordered for the third-tier Sky Deck to make it resemble the ballroom of the Titanic in a facility designed by a Parisian outfit whose trade is high-end restaurants and hotels.'

My Fulham-supporting neighbour Roger Fairfax says it's lovely there now.

I went there with a Fulham-supporting mate when we weren’t playing, I hasten to add, against Forest. sold out crowd but that stand may as well have been a mile away, there was no atmosphere whatsoever and could hardy get any from either end, sitting there. So a pretty anaemic feel about it. Facilities wonderful, and lovely standing in the sun on the river, but lack of atmosphere killed it for me.

Sea Bream and Veuve Clicquot versus balti pies and warm Carlsberg.

Wouldn’t it be great if we, the anti christ of modern football, returned in our antiquated old shit house of a ground and put these posers back in their place.

The houses on the White Citeeeee, were named after pioneers and explorers, some of whom would not be PC today.
Who was Batman ?

A batman was an enlisted man who performed more or less the same functions as a butler for an officer. Mainly colonial wars (hence the South African connection) but I think the term was still in use until WWII when the high command were astonished to find that enlisted and commissioned men bled the same blood.

I was a member of the local Labour party years ago and some of the loonee ones tried to get the houses renamed. The higher echelons wouldn't have it.

I'll take the football stink of the Loft all day long.

Basically an officers personal servant to allow the officer to do war stuff.
My grandad was a batman during WWII in North Africa and Italy. I always remember as a kid in the 80s at how immaculate his bed was made whenever we went visit. It was because he was a batman.

They could be onto something..

"Football is not necessarily central to the project. The Thames is the star attraction, not the playing field"

If we could make the A40 a feature we've nailed it.
There's been virtually zero on the playing field for the last few years to warrant any attraction at W12

I used to like a bit of corporate now and then but... my God...

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Good luck to filling and funding that corporate shite when the inevitable relegation happens and playing Preston in November.

In a way having a stadium where someone pays £20,000 to not watch the football is the natural evolution of the Premier League. After all, this must be the most boring season in its history - the Champions walked the league; at least 25% of the teams get in the 'Champions League'; Chelsea get £80m because they won something a few years ago; and even something as potentially exciting as Spurs and Man U being just above the relegation places means nothing because relegation was decided back in August.
