Premier League Cup Final match thread 14:51 - May 13 with 29032 views | Esox_Lucius | Play the strongest team we possibly can or reward the players who have got the team this far? I know at this level it supposed to be all about the coaching and not the results but for a one off like this I am hoping it is the strongest team in an effort to win the cup, along the lines of... 1. Salamon 2. Putman 3. Esquerdinha 4. McDowell 5. Murphy 6. Bennie 7. Tuck 8. Morgan 9. Sutton 10. Kolli 11. Dillon Subs. Clark, Talla, Manufor, Petrie, Vaughan and others. I am not as familiar as many on here as it is normally to far to travel for their games so I only have around 5-6 games to base my team on. Please feel free to criticise/ replace/ tell me to never darken your door again etc. [Post edited 16 May 12:00]

Imagine it will be similar to Burnley, maybe Dillon and Petrie starting if Bennie/Kolli are not around. Shepherd Putman McDowell Wilkie Esquerdinha Morgan Tuck Murphy Sutton Bennie Kolli Well, that isn't similar, thats just the same team. But you know what I mean.

Kolli was average but played in the championship game less than three days later ao might have not been on full throttle. I would start him myself. No such distractions this time and he has gone off the boil in recent matches. An opportunity to boost his confidence with a very strong performance in the cup final. And tbf, it's a superb way for any potential academy graduate making themselves known for more first team squad availability, so expect all of our players to be supremely motivated for this and what an opportunity also. A great game here for an academy graduate would have similar repercussions as a great FA Cup Final performance by Eze would have, on his wishes in furthering his career... Hopefully a great and memorable game ahead for all the boys... [Post edited 13 May 15:17]

Premier League Cup Final match thread on 15:18 - May 13 with 4987 views | derbyhoop | I think you might want a 2nd CB, e.g. Wilkie. Otherwise that is close to likely starting XI I suspect, going by the SF report, either Kolli or Dillon to be on the bench. Shepperd was in goal for SF. I believe Salamon was still out on loan at the time.

Disappointed as I thought they could do the same, ie free but with a suggested donation to the QPR in the Community Trust. I understand of course that there are costs involved in setting up the streaming, but I'm sure the costs of enabling 6,000-odd fans in the stadium are greater. Then again on the other hand - it's only £3

It is possible that a lot of the first team boys like Morgan and Kolli may have had holidays booked already, so could be off on them rather than hanging around for this. Would love them to hang around and compete, but they don't get masses of time off before pre-season so some of them may have jetted off already.

They had no idea over 7k would want to come. Less than 1k came to the semis. Seriously I don''t get why people who already put £2 million a month in should give us free stuff. I'm hoping there are some substantial donations to the Community Trust and everyone gets an overpriced beer/coffee.

I would be surprised as they were involved in the game against Burnley, saw the support so I would think they are most unlikely to blow off the chance to win a trophy, especially knowing there will be good support at the game. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I would be staggered if they weren't involved.

As you say it's peanuts. For a chance to watch potential future stars. As an overseas follower it's the only way for me.

7500 I think the club underestimated how starved we have been for success of the last few years! I reckon they could have sold over 10000 tickets for this final.

I do wonder how many will actually turn up given that fans were allowed to claim up to 6 tickets each.

They would still be training if we had been successful and extended our season. Additionally, most if not all of them, were development squad at the beginning of the season. We knew we were in this final before the Sunderland game, so hopefully, they will have rested and trained appropriately and they have booked late bargain breaks next week.

Do you think Talla is suffering from not being Esqerdinha? I remember Talla chipping with goals as well as good defending when he was regularly in the team before he arrived.

Really interested in seeing our two fullbacks I here they have pace and power! Tuck, hopefully his season on loan has bulked him up as I think he is the type of midfielder we need. The two centrebacks, McDowell and Wilkie. Wilkie just signed a pro deal from Eastleigh.

I think Aoraha might have been released, he looked promising a few years back but never really got a proper chance

He was on loan at Ebbesfleet who were relegated, bottom of the National League. He's 22yo, so I imagine he'll be leaving. Tough as I think he had a bad injury last year which looks like he has never really recovered from.

Ch*ls** knocked out in the QF stage. Everton, Leeds, and Bromley failed to get out of the group stage. Prestige-wise it’s on a par somewhere between the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Scottish Challenge Cup and the Copa Libertadores. [Post edited 15 May 13:40]

I believe Arsenal and Liverpool did not enter. Not sure about other big "names".
