Premier League Cup Final match thread 14:51 - May 13 with 29794 views | Esox_Lucius | Play the strongest team we possibly can or reward the players who have got the team this far? I know at this level it supposed to be all about the coaching and not the results but for a one off like this I am hoping it is the strongest team in an effort to win the cup, along the lines of... 1. Salamon 2. Putman 3. Esquerdinha 4. McDowell 5. Murphy 6. Bennie 7. Tuck 8. Morgan 9. Sutton 10. Kolli 11. Dillon Subs. Clark, Talla, Manufor, Petrie, Vaughan and others. I am not as familiar as many on here as it is normally to far to travel for their games so I only have around 5-6 games to base my team on. Please feel free to criticise/ replace/ tell me to never darken your door again etc. [Post edited 16 May 12:00]

Premier League Cup Final match thread on 21:21 - May 15 with 2791 views | derbyhoop | Cracking game. Very spicy at times. 3 good goals. Atmosphere was brilliant and v supportive. Thought we were the better team, even if they missed a couple of good chances. I wonder how many of our side will be playing First team in near future. If not for us, elsewhere in EFL. Suspect it will be quite a few. And it should encourage other promising youngsters to join QPR.

This is what I want to see in the first team it creates space for our midfielders. super enjoyable watch!

He doesn't look much different from watching him play 20 years ago.

Morgan, obviously, the Brazilian, Sutton, Tuck, and Dillon. Dilton worked his socks off all night and only 17 years old. Much the better team. Brentford a bit entitled.

Pedant alert, but Dillon is 19. Like the way he puts himself about though, showing good potential.

Think you should also give credit to current recruitment lot who signed most of the team post Ramsey. But I know you won’t. Credit Ramsey but also credit to the current lot too.

I make it Esquerdinha, Wilkie, McDowell, Morgan, Bennie and Dillon starting who were all post-Ramsey? So thats fair

Yes. But I only mentioned Ramsey because of Lassel. For me it’s more impressive that those 6 players have all been signed in last 12 months. For me that shows the youth side is working

Don't see a problem with both getting credit. There are a lot of lads in the youth team because of Ramsey and I like the work the current regime are doing with the development squad. Possibly the one thing I like about them at the moment, but credit where it is due

Premier League Cup Final match thread on 21:47 - May 15 with 2040 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | I would be really worried if I supported Brentford and that is the type of player and style being coached. All physicality, long throws and set pieces, not much finesse. A bit Championship. Can't see any of their players breaking through, maybe the number 4.

Premier League Cup Final match thread on 21:50 - May 15 with 1995 views | benhurst | Lots of good performances but Alfie Tuck in particular looks a serious player. He's definitely put in some serious work since he was on the bench at Cambridge at the start of the season, shows the benefit of spending a full season playing senior football. Will be disappointed if he isn't either with the first team or on loan in the EFL next season.

Spent some wedge on those B Team players as well. That's a fantastic result for us tonight, I thought we'd get well beaten can't lie.

I agree, I really enjoyed that from start to finish, some amazing technique from our young lads, I was surprised that Brentford favoured the long ball/ set piece/ long throw tactics, but I spose seeing the size of some of their lads it's hardly surprising. Just a lovely evening, love the look of Esquerdinha and I thought Morgan and Murphy were superb. Much more technical than I expected for some reason, but as my mate who's son plays for Charlton yoof suggests, players are now encouraged just to go down whenever they feel contact and that was certainly evident this evening. But what a night and so lovely to see a young crowd there, I overheard two young girls chatting on the way out saying that 'they wished they had asked the players to sign their shirts'... that was pleasing and I hope that will stick with them and they'll be the next generation of support. Great evening, I feel very happy

Didn’t like it, started repeat fouling, let third in, lost match. Deservedly.

This cup win will help us to continue to add more quality youngsters.to the ones we already have. The future is looking better than it has for decades.
