Play the strongest team we possibly can or reward the players who have got the team this far? I know at this level it supposed to be all about the coaching and not the results but for a one off like this I am hoping it is the strongest team in an effort to win the cup, along the lines of...
1. Salamon
2. Putman
3. Esquerdinha
4. McDowell
5. Murphy
6. Bennie
7. Tuck
8. Morgan
9. Sutton
10. Kolli
11. Dillon

Subs. Clark, Talla, Manufor, Petrie, Vaughan and others. I am not as familiar as many on here as it is normally to far to travel for their games so I only have around 5-6 games to base my team on.
Please feel free to criticise/ replace/ tell me to never darken your door again etc.

Great result but a shame Bennie got injured. Did it look bad?

Yes, totally agree with above, I thought we would be crushed by a physical , hard running, throw-ins and corners, long ball side.

(No surprise that's what they offered),

But bloody hell! some of the football we played was a joy to watch, deservedly Kieron Morgan will get immense praise tonight, but some of the movement, and pace up front was as good as I've seen this season, (inc First team).

I had to pinch myself, ( no pain with alcohol) that this wasn't a First team game.

Curious for Brentford fans?

With all the money, why does the Algorithm keep producing such boring players?

Great we've won a Cup this season. Really good team perormance, Furlong should be proud too. A very enjoyable game with the right result and young players showing great promise.

He took a knock and was in some discomfort, got another after a sprint to get back into shape which couldn’t have helped. Didn’t look too clever, but, hopefully, nothing major.

Didn't look good, couldnt put any weight on his leg when he went off, and was walking around after the game in what looked like a knee brace and on crutches.

Just got back.

Echo everything said. We were the better footballing team, First third/half of the 2nd half was all us, played them off the park and should’ve extended our lead but constant fouling from Brentford and the ref not dealing with it meant they kept doing it and then the ref started giving cards for everything.
Brentford were physical and dangerous at set pieces and we ahd a few scares but overall were second best.
We deserved that 100%

Night all.

I think the last time I enjoyed LR as much as tonight was the Leeds 4-0 game. Good atmosphere and banter in the lower loft.

Kieran Morgan different class and best player on the pitch.

Well done the club for making it free entry those young players would have loved playing with that level of support behind them tonight.

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

What a great night in the Bush. We played really well. It was a pretty open game but we could easily have got another 2 or 3. Then had a couple of decent chances as well. They were physical and looked a lot bigger but we played all the football. Was very impressed with Wilkie, Tuck, the Brazilian and Morgan but they all played their part. The future looks bright. Poor support from Brentford. Shows the difference between us and them. No way would they have had this level of support at their place. Some of their players / coaching staff were properly rattled by our support. Anyway, the 3rd goal allowed them to sneak out from their big day out to get the 237 back to Twickenham.

Agree with what most have said. Morgan was different level. Tuck, Esquerdinha, Murphy, Sutton and Salomon all did very well but no one had a bad game. Not sure why Brentford played the way they did, do they want to be the new PNE? Aggy, leaving studs in, trying to physically intimidate. Good to see our lads standing up for themselves and sticking to being the only ones playing decent football. Only downer was Bennie’s injury, looked bad to me , hope I am wrong.

Been a long time since I’ve heard as much laughter and joy walking back down SAR after the game. Well done lads.

If you type QPR under 21's into Google, it pops up with a trophy and fireworks 🙂.

Disappointed I couldn't make it tonight, but was travelling back from Manchester.

Well pleased for everyone associated with the development setup

You are right regarding Brentford getting rattled. I think it was on this thread ( when we thought the game was going to be at their place) that I felt that our support would be very important and that they may not be able to handle it. It certainly upset their coaching staff.

Wilkie looked very good. Dealt with their strike pretty comfortably and had a good turn of pace. Impressive, especially as he only signed 2 weeks ago.

Has oxygen out for him on the pitch, amazed to see him invade the pitch for the third goal on his crutches. One of the cruciates I think.

Echo all the other posts, that was a great night out.

I wasn’t expecting much as have never really seen the dev squad play and thought we’d probably get a doing, but the atmosphere and quality of play was outstanding. Credit to the club for a performance like that

Was Wilkie number 4 at the back? He had a great game. Sutton looks like he’s got the attitude to go far, Morgan ran the game, the Brazilian left back looks like he’s heading for the first team as well

Lovely way to end the season.

I agree. We played much the better football. Morgan and Esquerdinha so good technically, the ball control both showed was excellent. Our two CBs looked solid and Tuck sprayed some lovely balls around. Brentford were surprisingly niggly - some dodgy tackles were flying in and it looked like Morgan got caught in the nuts - looked pretty angry. And a stray boot aimed at Sutton when on the floor. Would love to have seen a few balls released a bit earlier for Sutton or Esquerdinha to run onto but that's a wishlist not a criticism.

Apart from a couple of hairy moments Brentford only looked like scoring from set pieces whereas they had to resort to fouling us to stop us.

What a night!

Match report on the Brentford website very disingenuous. Basically said we were happy to play the back line in the second half…..clearly must have missed us playing them off the park and Sutton scaring the bejesus out of them and the number of times we went forward and the times we tried but were fouled.

They’re basically telling their fans they were unlucky when they weren’t.

I saw that with Morgan too, nix.

Forgot to add: caught deliberately. A very snide Brentford team out there tonight.

Just back, thoroughly deserved win. Kieran Morgan head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. The midfield three of Tuck Murphy and Morgan ran the game for the first 60 minutes until Brentford started to get some real joy with their winger down the left who was their best player and twice the size of our diminutive right back Putnam and we tired . Hugely impressed with Esquerdinha at left back too, I think he will break through next year and Tuck and Murphy need to be on the fringes

Brentford were shockingly poor, much bigger than us and physical and suprisingly direct.

Great game. Really impressed with the belief and commitment to the cause through our team. A credit to themselves and the club the way they competed and their application to the game plan. They all played well. Alfie Tuck and Kieran Morgan is a 1st team central pairing in the making and Esquardinha has got the class to go all the way too. Great game. Furlong and the coaching staff are doing a great job.

Think you should also give credit to current recruitment lot who signed most of the team post Ramsey. But I know you won’t. Credit Ramsey but also credit to the current lot too.

Everyone involved with the club should be proud. Whilst it was overdue to shake up the youth setup, the setup still has Ramseys fingerprints all over it.

Yeah that was something to be proud of tonight .
Great atmosphere . When the third went in the roof nearly came off.

Back 4 were tremendous . Murphy, Morgan ,Tuck and Dillon eye catching for different reasons .
I thought Tuck was the best player on the pitch for an hour . Started to run out of legs the deeper we dropped . I still thought we looked dangerous on the counter though . Sutton with a hell of a shift .
I agree with some of the opinions about Brentford .
They only started playing when we started to drop off.
At half time I did think to myself “is this it?”
Is this the great footballing model we are all creaming ourselves to aspire too?
Long balls and long throws . To be physically bigger than your opponent ? Which they were. They were huge.

I thought they were disappointing and they also had that whiff of Billy big bananas about them, that they fancied themselves a bit too much .
I saw 1 team who thought they just had the right to win it , and that includes the coaching staff and 1 team who dug in and really wanted it . We wanted that, so fair play to every single player tonight . You deserve that . That goes for Paul Furlong and his staff too.

I will say this too, it was genuinely lovely to see Hoos and Reilly absolutely joyous at full time .
It doesn’t matter for that moment who has done this or that or blah blah .. it’s not important tonight.
It meant something to them and we should take that as a huge positive .
Not singling Nourry out. I’m sure he was over the moon , I just didn’t see him like I saw the other 2 .

In the grand scale of things it’s not huge , but it was glimmer of hope for our future . Maybe .
Who knows ?
But credit where it’s due .
Chuffed with that

Ramsey should rightly be proud.

If he's proud of his mentoring of Paul Furlong (assuming he did) then yep, great, I'm with that.

As has been noted - his tenure brought us nothing like this and nothing like the breakthroughs we're seeing now.
I know Kolli gives him credit, and he was too young before, but I just can't equate the current success with my old mate Benny.

Now Paul Furlong.... love that geezer and absolute props to him this evening

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Yeah that is a lovely interview .
Good for him

One little thing . It is a shame that Marti and Xavi weren’t there to witness that .
MC has brought Morgan, Kolli , Lloyd, Sutton, Petrie and Murphy into the squad this season , sometimes through necessity, but you could see that these lads have been involved in one way or another in real football , not just DS matches . I think it made the difference and MC deserves credit for that .
