No surprises. "discussions ongoing" with Dunne. What are we discussing with Andersen? Will you play for free?

Equally, what are we discussing with Colback? The best high SPF sun cream?

Anderson is shocking, Colback and Fox surprising.

I came round to liking Colback and felt that he proved his value, particularly in the second half of last season. I would give him another year.

I would give Dunne the extra year that he apparently wants. Of course.

The proviso on both is that the wage demands are reasonable and affordable.

I can't understand why we are still talking to Anderson and Fox. Thank you and goodbye.

Lucas Andersen.....release 100%
Jack Colback......sign if the cash is right. A top player and proved it many times last season but the good stuff is sadly missed by many posters. Just as important as Cook.
Jimmy Dunne......sign if the price is right, massive player for us but lets not go overboard. He is not Premier class.
Morgan Fox.....decent back-up, sign if price is right and we have no young lads ready to step up to 1st team duties.

I know FA about the following players so no comment - Joel Halliday, Noah McCann, Kieran Petrie

Andersen - Release - legs seem to have gone and parallel with Johansen's decline.
Colback - Release - excellent for us but there must be another "Colback" out there younger and cheaper.
Dunne - Keep - but let's not be held to ransom.
Fox - Keep - if the wages aren't silly as useful to have on the bench as can play across the backline in an emergency.
Petrie - Keep - worth a slow step up into first team action.

Wish I could be like David Watts

Colback and Fox are both ten a penny Champ players, they have no resale value and are not worth a new deal in my opinion, unless its a pay as you play deal.

The only thing I'd be discussing with Anderson is to ask him what happened this year? His drop off in form was outstanding.

I'm not sure what we are discussing with Jimmy. It's not about an extra year is it? If he leaves to go somewhere else they will be offering a signing on fee to the player, which I doubt QPR can get anywhere near, I don't think there is much to discuss. If Jimmy wants to leave then that is what happens, in that regard its like Manning again, but without the vitriol from the fans

Petrie played in DS final replacing Bennie ( injury looked really nasty) similar to Sutton in style and stature, tricky winger. Scored in semi vs Burnley, no idea on other 2. I would keep Colback for another year, rotation and dare I say yellow cards means he won’t play 40 games. We look more solid with him. If we re-sign Fox would suggest 4 CB’s sorted but have to say that’s a predictable disaster waiting to happen on the injury front. Want Jimmy to sign, surely Anderson surplus to requirement and keeps a young gun off the subs bench. Starting to get interesting

They must be discussing the possibility of a double quadricep transplant with Anderson. That's the only thing I can imagine that means.

I don't see any value in keeping Colback unless it's a much cheaper deal - he really should only be back up (you're not getting far in the Championship with a 36yo CM) and even then depends if he's fit and not suspended.

I like Colback but he's 36 in October and only managed 17 starts from 28 appearances this season. I think its time to release him and get a younger replacement who can play most weeks. Same with Fox and Anderson. I can't see Jimmy staying if Sheff Utd are genuinely interested again.

What we need most is an injury free season. Doesn’t matter who is signed up and on what money if half of them (hope your listening Jake) spend most of the season on the treatment table taking zoom calls from Saudi fooking Arabia.

I'm pretty sure Sheffield United will be trying to sign Dunne which will be very tempting for him, genuine chance at promotion

Surprised we are still talking to Fox, Colback and Anderson but they could well be to do with if the new manager wants them to stay or not

Can’t see Dunne staying now Sheff. Utd are still in the championship.
Colback? Will he take the huge drop in wages that a new contract will offer him for a bit-part squad player that he was this last season?
Fox? Similar to above but with lower wage difference and less appearances.
Anderson? Played even less. Can’t see what he has to offer over a replacement tbh (other than it’s just a re-signing) would be better thought to replacing him with a loan I would have thought.

All other youngsters, I’m not qualified to make any suggestion.

Take Colback back, we should be looking at Hayden as good and 7 years younger

Quick note - as the years go by and we lose track of who’s got what contract under this new coms regime of telling the fans as little as possible, this brief statement with nothing in it is going to be how you find out each year, and in multiple cases it’ll be the first you knew that player even was out of contract.

Petrie is an odd one for me. I've watched him a few times for the DS and think he flatters to deceive at that level - and he's 21 so don't see him ever being a Championship player.

Would it make any difference?

Usual Championship player contract length: 3 years.
Average Championship manager tenure: less than a year.

With regard Andersen, Fox and Colback. Sometimes you need squad players who are happy not being first choice.

Yeah, but they shouldn't also be your top earners.

Think there's some merit in seeing if Fox or Colback will extend for a year.
You do need squad players like that and you can't always just chuck in a kid and hope they'll give you 10 decent games
