He did take over an England team that finished 4th in the world cup and had players like Gazza, Lineker, Barnes, Waddle, Platt, Shearer, Wright, Pearce etc but chose to pick Carlton Palmer

Gazza was injured for quite a bit of his time too. Les was injured vs Holland. He had limited options in my view and was very unlucky with decisions against Holland. Squad is better now but he left out some real quality players, good club manager but that was a desperate era for England, played Andy Sinton at right back in a major tournament | | | |

I didn't watch the game and am not i suppose like most qpr fans. It doesn't really bother me whether Chelsea are good, bad or indifferent.
And do know a couple of Chelsea fans. They have chosen well in their manager I think and they are improving and may be closer to Liverpool next season.
City are in transition and Arsenal are good but inconsistent.

Palmer was simply outstanding but he treated his man of the match award like it was runners up medal and his interviews was a bit strange.Compared to James who spoke incredibly well Palmer is either too shy in public and lets his playing do his talking fair play he is some talent.

Taylor was a thoroughly decen man, and a decent enough manager, but he was out of his depth managing England (imo).
And he had better players than he knew eg in a crucial Euro Finals game vs Sweden in 1992, where he desperately needed a goal to progress, he took off Gary Lineker (48 goals in 80 caps) and replaced him with Alan Smith (2 goals in 13 caps), still with 30 mins to go. | | | |

Yeah was all Betis till half time who should have been at least two goals up.
Annoyingly Maresca made subs which improved the Scum; while Betis seemed to get worse with each sub, not helped either by their goal scorer going off injured, he was a bit of a livewire.
Hate to say it but Palmer is a lovely player, two great assists.
