Much as many deny the truth, the facts are there for all to see. No I am not proud of the situation but we have to be realists to plan for the future. The aim to create 1,000,000 Welsh speakers by 2050 will never happen, let's be realistic and plan accordingly. The sooner Drakeford is gone the better, he just won't see sense.

Learning Greek isn't easier because one speaks Welsh
Why? Well there's a different alphabet for a start
Even having lent how to write Greek , it doesn't help when learning Russian, Bulgarian or Serbian who have another one to memorise

I have a wall full of plod commendations , have learned five different instruments , have two octave voice range starting at F2 , have perfect teeth at 75 and a full head of hair
Not only that but I have won JS tw@t of the year three times
I can speak two languages fluently and get by with three more and done so without speaking much Welsh although I can understand basic Welsh conversations thanks to my fathers family of poisoned misfits all of who spoke Welsh ,

Learn to love your own heritage and work out for yourself why you hate it so much. It is nothing to do with Welsh culture. Life was tough for everyone in the 1950-1970s.
Our heritage goes back 3000 years or more. It is an asset. We should not give it away for new multicultural fusions.
As I explained it is a state of mind. I have seen some English people trying to t learn Welsh going through the motions.

Our heritage? Well you're only out by around 230,000 years and there's been continual habitation of these lands for at least 10,000 years.

Except that English is a compulsory subject taught in Chinese schools from the early ages. It's one of three mandatory classes they take, alongside Chinese and Maths. It's also a key component of their college entry exams.
It's one of the reasons why Chinese students flock to the UK and US. There are nearly five times more Chinese students in the UK than in France, for example. Bit odd for them to do that if English is such a bastardised language eh? |

There are a lot of things taught in schools that seem pointless, I didn't know cats did physics though 
I mean, Logarithms, seriously?
Teach them useful stuff. They can't even do their times tables anymore and rely on the calculator for even simple maths. There's no home economics anymore, or so I was told. There must be a better way.

I left after O levels snd grew up fast on a very demanding industry
