Thomas Frank would be an interesting appointment, Brentford so well run especially in recruitment I guess you see how good a Brentford manager is after they leave, likes of Dean Smith and even our own Warbs didn't do much after leaving but he has done a really good job with them
Shame about Ange I do like him especially his views on VAR

Agreed. Both Brentford and Brighton seem to have a solid system that each manager just fits into. Thomas Frank to spurs is a disaster waiting to happen IMO. Apparently Brentford looking at McKenna as a replacement? I thought Brentford would look further afield personally....

Seems like arrogance from Spurs: sack the bloke who has won them a decent trophy after all these years and will probably end up with a top ten finish and no trophy next season whoever takes over.

Putting legacy aside, it'd be step down for Frank as it stands. Ange clearly fckd up on the league and came across as tactially naive and gung-ho in the league and tactically cautious and planned in the cup (which at least showed he had tactical nous)...it was a bit the wrong way round.

No way would it be a step down for Frank! Fantastic stadium, huge budget, Champions League etc etc.

Not sure i agree Ned. Fantastic stadium of course. But Levy budget is never huge and he has done Brentford fairly organically with managed expectations from the fanbase..rightfully so. Spurs seems a bit of a basket case to be avoided despite their (somewhat overblown) legacy.

I totally agree and also remember how appallingly the club treated Martin Jol.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Sitting in the sauna surrounded by Spurs fans recently, and this was before Spurs won the Europa League, they were chatting about Tottenham and then did the thing, oh yeah, I follow QPR, yes I admitted it in public !!!!
And then they were chatting about replacements and I said Eze was rumoured to be going there and I said it's great for Rangers if he was sold but I said I would be disappointed if he went there as I said it was a step down.
One of them, then gave me an evil glare.
"Step down, Thats a big call."
He was quite offended....
Hahahahahahahahaha !!!!!
I tried unconvincingly to stop laughing...
But perhaps now they have Champions League football this season and expect them to spend big. If they get their manager correct their fortunes could flip flop, but really they have had a horrendously poor league campaign. Many seasons would have seen them relegated.

I will be very sad to see him go if he does as he’s been fantastic for us but deserves a crack at a big club. The fact that he has a 10 million release clause and the club will not soften on that I think levy may look elsewhere.I don’t think it’s a great time to join spurs the fans seem anti Frank and they are split about Ange leaving. If he goes we have a fantastic coaching and scouting set up that will remain and we could very well look internally for his replacement.Rosler Warburton Dean Smith all moved on and we still progressed so hopefully that will continue.

No way Brentford are looking at McKenna and why would he want to leave Ipswich as I expect they will be one of the favourites to go up next season.

Yes agreed, him and Brentford suit each other. Also less pressure with the fanbase happy enough to just keep out of relegation trouble. I think he may struggle at Spurs if he goes there.
Reminds me a bit of when players left Forest in Clough's time and often didn't look half as good somewhere else.

Thing with Spurs is they have had some of the best managers around from Conte to Mourinhio and it always ends the same, maybe the manager isn't the problem

It seems to me that with any decent PL finish being out of the question having a go at the Europa Cup was worth it. Lots pf people calling it a tinpot trophy but i think they’re confusing it with the Conference Cup. The Europa cup is essentially a rebranded UEFA Cup which, for those of us old enough to remember, was very much a worthy trophy to gain.
I’m also sure that mandate would have been made very aware to everyone all the way to the top and if there was a problem with that then i’m sure it would have been voiced and they would have lost somewhere along the line in the Europa to finish higher in the League, for no discernible return other than a few extra quid in the bank.
So, Ange had a clear plan. Executed it and it paid off. Whats not to like? The League position will fade with time but the Europa win won’t.
He deserved to be there for next season and see where it leads, he earned that.

The headline writers in the Star are top class. Consistently funny and clever. Never, ever read any more than that and you’ll be doing fine.
Yeah, surprisingly true for any of us who remember The Star from the heyday of tabloid redtops.
It was of course The Star who came up with the Liz Truss lettuce thing, which was about the most acute piece of political commentary any British newspaper has managed in years.
