Going over the first WBA report you slipped in probably one of your top lines ever talking about JCS " he would limp out of his own wedding " now that is funny stuff.
Speaking of JCS he was so critical to us staying up when Marti arrived then once he limped out for most of last season we were not close to the same team and his and other injuries . cost Marti his job IMO
Its going to be interesting how quickly Marti is hired in England or elswhere now that he is free from our schackles .
Was excellent at pre and post match interviews just a pity Clive was not allowed his 1 on 1 interview to give us a glimpse behind his cool exterior .Good luck to him

I think you're another who confuses the brand with some kind of deep psychic reality, and thinks because a manager tells you what you want to hear, it really means something rather than it being a case of his turning in a polished professional performance. He'll say the same thing about the next club he rolls up at, wait and see. Warnock made a career out of this. It's a bit embarrassing, really, in grown adults to take it all literally.

Do you think Jimmy Dunne was telling us what we wanted to hear in his recent interview?

Although I understand what you are saying many players and managers develop an affection for our club and why not.

This was Marti's biggest job in football, he has seen our wonderful away support, experienced Loftus Road under the lights and how the place rocks like no other with a game like Leeds United. He knows how most fans feel about him so I am inclined to take his farewell letter at face value.

On a personal note Marti made me look forward to match days once again and he united the club in many ways.

After only 18 months in charge he was still a Championship novice restricted with an awful injury list and a bunch of new players new to England and the Championship. Far from perfect but both he and the new players were improving. Next season could have been interesting.

I liked Marti, he got us out of a hole and there were improvements, but his team also suffered from what has plagued us since relegation in 2015 - inconsistency and yoyo results, especially at home. Anyway all the best to him and hope the new manager can eliminate that inconsistency which has blighted us for too long.

Hard to disagree with a lot of what's written here. For me, looking in from afar in the post-Nick Blackburn era, Marti was a breadth of fresh air. A manager who wasn't embarrassing and, as repeatedly stated above, got us.

I just cannot get my head around the fact that he's been undernined and undervalued. If this goes south, we've got no one else to blame but the boardroom. Again!

Mucha suerte y gracias Señor Marti.

Announce Dunning, supported by Kruger.

Get the team to wear lemon juice 3 times a week and we’ll beat everyone.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Marti turned around one of the worst QPR teams ever. I'll always respect him.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Honestly I don't have a firm view on Nourry but keep finding myself irritated by some of the comments.

How is it meanspirited to say he did a fantastic job under difficult circumstances, thank him wholeheartedly for his positive impact and wish him well.

I don't think I've ever had any boss ever be so complimentary.

I loved Marti but I always thought he wouldn't stay long. It's the equal longest he's stayed at any of the seven clubs in twelve years he's managed at. He's ambitious and impatient but has obviously enjoyed his time here. I'll miss him but want to be positive about the new guy.

Taken in isolation there nothing wrong with what Nourry said there. But it's meanspirited when compared to the fulsome, glowing and extended weird quotes he gives to any and every teenager we sign for the youth team

Shit but local

We beat two top 10 sides: Blackburn and Sunderland.

There's a reason we finished 15th.

Well Sunderland was a) not a competitive match, at least not for Sunderland and b) Marti wasn’t in charge for that one.

I’ll give you Blackburn, so one out of ten teams (from 19 matches). Doesn’t exactly change the argument though, does it?

Massive mistake and gutting to lose the best manager we have had for a while. Feels like QPR has been cursed ever since that season Warnock took us up.

No doubt Cifuentes will be snapped up by another club and go on to succeed

If we beat a handful of teams above us but didn’t consistently beat the teams around us we’d be down because you are giving points to your direct competitors.

I suspect Jimmy was telling us what we wanted to hear. I regularly play golf with a number of past and present footballers and, bar the odd one, it really is just a job for them (much like our own jobs are just jobs for us) and they deal with it accordingly. I'm sure Jimmy does really enjoy being with us and has a great appreciation for the fans, but I suspect there is more to him staying than we'll ever be told (such as a failed medical, not enough money on offer, or suchlike). Still glad he's stayed though, as he's a good pro who gives his all and is a welcome bit of stability for next season (along with Field).

I have a question, i have switched off from Rangers for most of this summer, so maybe I have missed something.

Has there been concrete proof that Marti was courting other clubs?

Even if he was, why is everyone seeing this as a big deal, they nearly sacked him in November, course he's going to be keeping an eye out.

Anyway, wish him all the best. Loved the bloke, thought he was excellent and we failed to look after him and manage his personality correctly.

I do love that his agent speaking to other clubs and looking to progress his own career was seen as such a bad thing, if he'd walked out mid season very different story but having a flirt without leaving not sure what the problem is for a club who have a stand named after a bloke we all love who spent most of his QPR career putting in transfer requests and looking to move on.

Ultimatley we'll never know what happened until marti or Nourry does a book or a podcast in a few years

A good manager.

I think of standing behind that goal at West Brom watching us lose 2-0 and never once going over the halfway line, and having Gareth tell us we were statistically improving, and I've rarely felt lower about QPR and the direction we were heading. I didn't think we'd make 20 points.

This guy came in, got it, got us, and turned it round immediately.

I've found a lot of the white washing and dismissal of his time here on social media hard to swallow.

He's one of our best managers in recent times.

It won't happen...but I'd like to see an explanation of why his term finished the way it did. If it was a fall out then due to what cause? I hope both sides can offer up some details in the near future.

I guess it is time to move on, but I will always rate Marti and I fear we will only know how good a job he did at the end of this coming season. I do understand how you can pick holes in his performance, but he was the most likeable, sensible manager we have had in a long time and the similarity with the Warbs time and then removal are somewhat striking.

Of course he would make the same quotes on leaving any club, I prefer to remember his reaction to the fans singing his name after a woeful run of form, or saying that "one day he would write a book" about the support he got from us during the tough times. I think they were genuine.

I mean, Jimmy's quotes were great but no doubt if Wilder had stayed he would have been off up North in a heartbeat. Not sure if he loves QPR or living in Chiswick more. Perhaps Chiswick is our trump card for attracting good players.

To be honest, I fell for Marti at his first home game when he ran round the pitch beforehand clapping and high fiving the fans. It was clever, appreciated and quite funny at the same time. Lifted the mood instantly after the Ainsworth debacle. A canny operator all round.

But, unless I win the Euromillions, buy a stake in the club, sack Nourry and reinstate MC then it is all over. So, come on the new guy. Build on the good work!

Cheers Marti.

Some very good posts on here which echo my thoughts, the Steve Cook interview was also manufactured, why he felt the need to start talking about Madsen in his contract renewal interview was strange, could it be that somebody requested the club captain to promote positive thoughts about a signing the CEO knows has been given poor support from the fans.

Marti also made me look forward to match days because of his professionalism, his fantastic comprehension of the English language meant he came across superbly in pre and post match interviews and that's followed on with his truly professional leaving statement.

There were plenty of hurdles put in front of Marti but he just got on with the job without too many complaints, last seasons recruitment meant that we would always struggle with so many inexperienced Championship newcomers. Then as the season wore on the injuries became another hurdle, that picture of so many first choice players watching in the stands highlighted the issue, the fact the Director of Performance was allowed to work part time exacerbated the issue and the decision to let him do that was farcical.

Surely one of the key roles for a CEO is to create a good working relationship with the Manger, it's imperative that both parties are flexible in their approach to important decisions, it has always been a worry that somebody with such little Management experience should be given overall authority.
Similarly a key role of the CEO is to maximise revenue at every opportunity, the way the Manager has been handled has been totally counter productive and must have cost the club a considerable sum of money when if handled differently we actually could of made some money from Martis departure.

Still it's all done and dusted now and yet again we move on with a new Manager who will get our support, it's our club not Nourry's and the fans will still be there when he's gone......

Yeah that is fair comment.

I guess what I’m alluding to is, if you find a way to beat better sides, chances are your manager is having a positive tactical influence on the team, if you’re losing to teams worse than you on a regular basis, chances are it’s the manager who’s having a negative tactical influence on the team.

If you’re beating worse teams but losing to better teams on a consistent basis then maybe the manager is not having a particularly strong influence on proceedings. I can’t recall us tactically winning games too often last season.

As I mention, just a nagging doubt, but not necessarily a correct one I’ll admit.

Sorry to see him go, and I'd have been fine with him getting another season. But sometimes his team selections were bewildering especially away from home, and his desire to play more open football was admirable but did us no favours. I'm not sure he ever really got Championship football.

Good luck for the future. And bonne chance to the new fella.

Regardless of all the psychodrama that is part and parcel of QPR, I would like to say I really enjoyed Marti's time here. He carried himself with tremendous dignity and took a squad that had chewed up and spat out repeated managers and gave a team we could mostly be proud of cheering on.

Gracias Marti
