Saito, Yang,Ashby and Edwards 17:22 - Jun 30 with 6850 views | loftboy | Am I reading too much into the goodbye announcement? “Officially” gone backto their parent clubs. Isn’t usually a Thankyou and goodbye?

Saito, Yang,Ashby and Edwards on 17:34 - Jun 30 with 4603 views | bosh67 | I would imagine with now Dembele and Poku that Saito may not be coming back. Shame, I liked him but there is a lot of competition now. Edwards was never going to stay. I think a Prem team will come in for him at Southampton. [Post edited 30 Jun 17:34]

I think that is a bit unfair on Saito who impresses with his skill at running & dribbling with the ball, as well as always putting in a real shift and covering different positions. Also, for a smaller player, he competed for and won headers and tackles. Yang, was a bit inconsistent, but scored and assisted goals. He is also, a very young and raw player who will go on to have a good career. The main reason he won't return is because we have more than enough attacking players with Chair, Kolli , Dembele, Poku, Smyth, Celar, Vale & Kelman if he stays. [Post edited 30 Jun 17:40]

Good point that we also have Vale in the Koki discussion. Koki's a free agent tomorrow so let's see!

Saito, Yang,Ashby and Edwards on 18:41 - Jun 30 with 4017 views | LazyFan | Yang we learned could play Striker, but is defo no winger and his defensive capability is almost zero. Spurs won't develop him there, so I expect him to get another Champ loan. Possibly Wrexham. Ashby is decent L1 level at best and therefore not worth the big monies that his prem club would want. May get a loan to someone like Charlton. Edwards is class and would be in the prem and possibly the England team if he were slightly faster and slightly taller, way out of our level. Saito is a good decent player, but we have Dale and Kolli on the left to backup Chair, who I am hoping is over his injuries last season. So, we don't really need Saito, even though he is clearly a decent Champ player (not amazing, but decent). I expect someone like PNE to sign him. It will be interesting to see where they all end up, apart from Edwards, who I expect to establish himself in the Saints promotion-winning team.

Saito, Yang,Ashby and Edwards on 19:55 - Jun 30 with 3516 views | OakR | As others have said, Edwards out of our League, but then so was Tarrabt...unlikely but you never know! I would have liked us to keep Saito, I thought he lacked physicality when he started but once he got up to speed was great, that turn inside to the byline worked so well, really loved it when he had a run at defenders in the area especially. Other than Chair, I'm not sure we have anyone who can do the same.

Saito, Yang,Ashby and Edwards on 20:21 - Jun 30 with 3365 views | VancouverHoop | I'm not sure those four players (with the possible exception of Ashby) were ever signable. They were with us for match experience only. I'd love to keep Saito and Edwards but it was never on the cards.

3 goals & 3 assists in 39 games isn't me being unfair, it's not good enough. If he was a backup then maybe, but if he is a starter then no wonder we struggled.

Was Steve Bould his coach before coming to us? Might have an effect but agree not our most exposed position

Down voted by mistake. I thought Saito improved through the season and would be happy for him to come back. It would be interesting to see how many chances he created that were not finished off by others. He often cut the ball back into dangerous areas but no-one seemed to anticipate the pass.

Cheers, well it's the first I've heard of it. Anyway it's an interesting recruitment policy - rearrange their face first, then offer them a contract.

Saito, Yang,Ashby and Edwards on 12:55 - Jul 1 with 1814 views | bosh67 | According to Google AI... Koki Saito will be a free agent in July 2025. His loan spell with Queens Park Rangers (QPR) ends on June 30, 2025, and his contract with his parent club, Lommel SK, also expires on the same date. This means he will be available to sign for any club as a free agent at the start of July. Only going by what Google search is finding.
