£27 million is almost one leg of their 33 strikers.

Never knowingly right.

I think we were fined 3 times the national debt of Cuba.

It was a fine of £17m with payments spread over 10 years. It won't get paid off until 2028. In addition, we paid the EFL’s costs of £3m.

Bit ropey how EUFA are doing the fining on behalf of The Prem. The shysters at The Prem keep committing to aligning domestic "FFP" caps and protocols with EUFA but consistently forget to vote it through at conference.
Still, the main thing is football has been saved from the greedy barstewards who tried to take The Prem and EUFA out of the loop. It is very important that all shenanigans and inequity is fully controlled by The Prem/FA/EUFA in perpetuity....

I thought it was £40M ish, but we did some movement of funds/shares to clear half of it (ish), then had to pay the rest over 10 years…..?

2018 surely not correct…. 7 years ago !?

The other part of the fine was an agreement from club shareholders to write off £22m of outstanding loans, but that didn't affect the club. In total it was nearly £42m.

Yes, it was 2018!

'From a club perspective, Chelsea stands out from the crowd in terms of spending over the last decade (€2.78 billion). This is 42% more than the next clubs having invested the most: Manchester City and Manchester United'.

27 Million fine ... whats the funking point?

Less than our fine despite them completely disrupting football and the transfer market and setting English football on the road to where it is today.

Brilliant eh?

Yes its at the semi final stage and Chelsea are playing Fluminese from Brazil on Tuesday in Giants stadium NY.
According to reports Chelsea have already banked 63 million pounds for making the semi final and if they win it all they get 100 million or there about not chew over those numbers

I read somewhere it was £200m they bank all in if they win, you know, sponsors and so on.

And then with this, they can go out and spend even more money this season!

zzzzzzzzzz

More to the point, if they are transgressing UEFA rules, how tf have they not transgressed the Premier League's rules?

(Answer appears to be the Prem allows the big clubs to claim Hotels and the Women's team that you sell to yourself are allowable football costs, whereas UEFA thinks "don't be so f-in stupid, of course they aren't".

Unfit for purpose...

They already won double that in this stupid world club cup.

Likely to get to final so probably banking minimum £80 million in prize money alone. Could be over £100 million for prize money and sponsorships on top.

£27 million won't even have minimal effect

A corrupt world indeed !!

It won't make a dent.

But all their money won't give them a fking soul will it? I don't care if you were a toddler when your old man indoctrinated you into supporting Chelsea, you're still a c**t.

They’ll have to sell the other hotel now….

I've heard they've sold a table and 4 chairs from one of their executive suites, to one of their former hotels, for £40m, and a box of crockery for a further £8m. Currently in negotiations for the sale of some old carpet.

They are the spawniest fu ckers in world football, so they will no doubt win this tournament and get about £6bn in prize money.

Absolutely no sympathy for Chelsea (how could anyone?) and feel a much stronger punishment was needed.

That said, it's potentially rather more than (a mere) £27m:

"Uefa's governing body announced an initial fine of 31m euros (£26.7m) and Chelsea could be fined a further 60m euros (£51.2m) over the next four years should they continue to not fulfil the financial controls enforced by European football's governing body.
Further to this, the sanction stipulates Chelsea must balance the books in Europe and make sure to end the transfer window with a "positive balance" or be unable to register new players, including new signings like Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens.
Not only that, they must sell players that were previously on the A list in Uefa competition, in this case the Conference League squad from the second half of last season.
That means that balancing the £170m of purchases this summer needs to come from those registered from Europe's third tier"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1lj8zr12gdo

Oh that the PL had the same "teeth" as UEFA, and were prepared to use them.
