Stéphan Era vs Stevenage 11:35 - Jul 5 with 26626 viewsDannyPaddox

Mon premier fil de discussion sur les matchs depuis près de sept ans. Au fait, j'ai un record à cent pour cent.

I would start first half with a strong XI

Nardi
Dunne Morrison Mbengue Vale
Poku Field Varane Chair
Kelman Celar

Second half more Dev Squad + Captain Cook

Walsh
Bennie Adamson Cook Esquerdinha
Smyth Morgan Tuck Dembele
Dillon Sutton

I’d also like to see Colback, Trujillo, and a Triallist ie. something old, something new, something borrowed.

Allez les Superhoops!

New lads all looking good. But especially like the new centre back and Adamson is playing right back, then goes centre back and then in midfield.

Celar looks sharp as well and determined to try and score another spectacular goal, it seems!

Unfortunately he's instead reverted to blootering the ball miles over the bar a couple of times

Shit but local

Nice goal from Vale, he’s looked decent.

We were just saying how he and Adamson are the pick in the second half. I like the fact Stephan is going to have headaches over selection because there are a few players fighting for positions.

Smyth on the left is not one of them.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Adamson looks a good prospect at RB. Very busy, looks like he's playing 3 positions at once.

Vale has looked nice and composed and took his goal beautifully. Mbengue does love that diag

Adamson the pick for me in the second half. But decent performances throughout the team. Nice to see Sutton involved and not remotely overawed.

Adamson looks an absolute steal at 150k.

Second half not quite as dominant but fine all the same. Of the new lads Mbengue impressed me the most - oozes personality and confidence, likes a big diag. Adamson played an interesting RB role coming inside a lot. Poku looked threatening without producing too much. Vale was playing out of position for him, I think, but scored a good goal.

Early days yet but in view of well-documented striker shortages I hope we can keep Charlie Kelman. Several nice layoffs, looked good when he drove forward and he tackled back well to win the ball at least once. Also got the assist for Dembele’s second goal. Despite not getting much service he certainly made his presence felt.

Stevenage No.22 having a long chat and hug with Ilias Chair adds weight to the claim that it may indeed be Ossie Kakay.

Can’t read too much into game for obvious reasons. But I’ll be surprised if Mbengue isn’t starting most games for us. So much more athletic than the rest of the back line we had last year. Very good signing

Good run out. Missed the of the first half, but did I see Richards scored?!

Adamson looks OK at RB/inverted, but he jumped in two or three times when defending the winger and was beaten. I think this was highlighted by Greg Spires in his analysis that this was an issue. Can't do that in the Championship.

Vale looked good.

Had to check what league Stevenage are in. Thought it must be National League or lower level League two, but they in league one, as basically, we dominated from start to finish.

Difficult to assess the defenders, as they had nothing much to do, but noticed we didn't pass to defender after defender in build up and were constantly moving forwards.

Dembele was the stand out for me. Vale was promising in the second half. Richards, Chair, Varane, Morgan looked decent also.

The pace and levels throughout were impressive.

It is a pre season friendly and normally these are dreadfully dull. Can't get too excited about this, but am about to put my monthly salary into an investment that matures when QPR win the championship this season !!

Quite the tonic after the end of last season and the summer of fear, uncertainty and doubt.

Tres bien, Julien.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Better ball progression out of midfield, Vale looked decent.
Mbengue looks loads of fun on that evidence.

Pleased for Richards. Last chance saloon. Head finally back? He looks very fit and like a footballer. Could he actually be a player this season? Finally?

Never knowingly right.
