Stéphan Era vs Stevenage 11:35 - Jul 5 with 28009 viewsDannyPaddox

Mon premier fil de discussion sur les matchs depuis près de sept ans. Au fait, j'ai un record à cent pour cent.

I would start first half with a strong XI

Nardi
Dunne Morrison Mbengue Vale
Poku Field Varane Chair
Kelman Celar

Second half more Dev Squad + Captain Cook

Walsh
Bennie Adamson Cook Esquerdinha
Smyth Morgan Tuck Dembele
Dillon Sutton

I’d also like to see Colback, Trujillo, and a Triallist ie. something old, something new, something borrowed.

Allez les Superhoops!

Salamon had very little to do so I don't understand how you can assess him as deficient.

Is "5 ft 0" a reference to the average height of our players?

I thought he was taller than that

Only caught the second half and yes yes friendlies are essentially a waste of time analysing but for the last few years since Warbs left every friendly I’ve watched seemed to see us getting drubbed by crap teams, so it was a pleasant surprise

It’s also notable that we have a decent squad now for the first time in eons - both teams in each half could conceivably start a Championship game (not you Taylor) so our new Monsieur is going to have some real selection headaches, and that was without the crocked four who have a few starters in there as well

Here’s a factoid which may be of no relevance at all or on the other hand an interesting way to gauge things. Stevenage finished in a higher position in League 1 last season (14th) than Oxford (19th) when they trounced us 5-0 pre-season couple of years ago.

He should know by now only forwards play in the hole.

I only saw the 2nd half 60 mins in, but from this I can deduce that with the skill of Sutton (who looks the real deal) and with Smyth this now means we have backup on the left for Chair.

Adamson looks more like a midfielder than a RB. He got beat a bit too easily for me at RB, and a faster winger would have skinned him a lot. Stevenage couldn't handle him roaming around and moving into the middle though, which is interesting as it shows that Stevenage don't have the in-game tactical nous as a team when things change in front of them. Shows the difference between our level and theirs. As our pros would adapt in such a situation.

Celar looked lost again and was unable to hold up the ball properly. Poku looked decent. Bennie looked DS again. Vale looked out of position for me and was trying too hard. Mbengue looked decent, not sure he's good enough in the air though. Morrison was commanding. Field looked like he was strolling it, and still dominated the middle for us. Salmon is not up to this level; he should be loaned out.

Where is Tuck? This must be the year he goes up a level?

The number of syllables in his name actually scans ok for the old "he's got no hair but we don't care" chant...so too does Michi Frey, and it would of course be more accurate as he's bald rather than thinning.

Yes, i'm a tad bored...

Nice one, Centurion - like it.

I wonder if there was a bonfire built in the garden and Marti played with it.

Wow, I clearly haven't been paying attention . I didn't realise we'd signed Todd Carty.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Todd Carty is great shout but for me it’s Shooting Star 50’s throwback Mark La Marr … by far Swindon’s most famous export … other than Diana Dors o’ course.

Bump.

Last week everyone was, it's only a friendly, let's not get carried away with ourselves. One week on, it's the end of days!

There's plenty of time to panic once the season kicks off!! So,sit back, relax, and enjoy the now and enjoy it in pink if you can.
