At the risk of being a stuck record again, it brings up the same question….Nourry went all hot and heavy that things are changing, QPR won’t be a crèche anymore and if you’re not close to the first team at 21 you’re gone.
They’ve then kept Aoraha, closer to 23 than 22, Talla and given a new contract to Petrie who all fail on that point and who are not only no closer to the first team than you or I, the club didn’t even think it was worth the new gaffer running an eye over them in pre-season….
I really liked the look of Cian Dillon in the Dev Squad games and would have liked to see him out on the tour in and around the first team.
I don't know much about Ridwan Hassan but now intrigued. Anyone more knowledgeable on him have an insight?
Madness if we think we can rely on the Dev Squad to make up our first xi next season. A couple of them may have a Kieran Morgan type breakthrough, but they will do a max of 20 effective games next season.
All for them giving us some depth, but if we're throwing Sutton, Esquidinha, Dilton, Timmy Pearson, etc. in for a run of games, we're in trouble. The fitness of those strikers weakens us massively.

If this was late August and that was the squad for the season then I would be joining you in concerns about relegation. But as its early July, and with some possibly leaving freeing up spaces for some coming in, add in some loans and I think we will most likely end up roughly where we were, mid table.
Based on the Mbengue interview, sounds like Madsen is there. He does sound like a good lad. Definitely going to be a big character in the squad this season.
Great interview with Larkeche. He seems like a good lad. And looks like he’s being given the chance to make the LB berth his own and why not?
He’s had a loan, done decently (my mate who is Dundee fan really liked him) and he’s ours. Now or never for him.
If he does fail though, it will be a Harrison Ashby marque 2 emergency loan, unless Esquerdinha turns out to be the next Roberto Carlos.
Woo woo woo lads come on I’ve read we are the dark horses this season , nourry is cooking , bit like Fanny craddock Ona. Tesco disposable bbq but he’s cooking . If anyone thought we was going to be anything but cannon fodder next season , it’s there in black and white for all to see , massively weak squad in a variety of positions , but we are told that the kids are the future , yeah in small doses not chucked in at the deep end all at once , anyone remember the start of last season when we tired it we are weaker than last season in a few positions , strike force still poor to crap , and central midfield already relying on kids to bail us out in pre season .

🤣 🤣 🤣
What do you reckon wombat, shall we go the whole hog and start the season with the cup winning development squad?
Only point I was trying make was let’s see how Larkeche does. Will he be up to it? I doubt it… but sometimes you’ve got to give things a try and if we are to succeed with any sort of model the time he’s been with us and the loan away means he needs to be tested… and though you might not believe me, I don’t think he is the answer on LB I’d like him to be though
As far as Nourry cooking - I’m not a fan of his in the slightest, but what else can we do. He won’t be being bombed out for a while yet

Well this is the club model going forward. We are going to see DS players fast tracked into 1st team so we all need to get behind them. The same model is used by the RB Group, they basically promote a youngster, tell them they have 20 games regardless so go and make the spot your own. Walsh, Larkeche, hearing Morgan at number 8.
Some of you on here are gonna have a heart attack this season. Me? Everything's gonna be fine.

Slight over reaction maybe? How many kids will start first game of season? If we assume that we only use the players in Spain squad then team will be:
Came onto this post and found a load of grumpy ol' pessimists having a moan.
I think the squad looks well balanced considering we are still in July. The injuries / illnesses to our strikers are far from ideal, but judging by the latest training video shared on the offish, the intensity is high and the quality looks pretty good.
I like that we're giving more responsibility to the younger guys. That's how we grow ourselves out of the last decade of mismanagement. With a couple more additions before the season starts, we'll be fine! Definitely not relegation fodder anyway!
Bench: Walsh or Nardi, Morgan, Smyth, Adamson, Vale, Richards, Sutton, Esquerdinha, Bennie or Akildenhi
And that’s without; Varane, JCS, Frey, Kelman, Kolli, Madsen, Lloyd
NMEA how did I know u would be one of the first to comment ,in ur possible line up it already proves how weak the squad it’s. Mebfengue at cm One striker non on the bench , And a bench consisting of bar smyth a bunch of dev squad players and players just bought in .
I’ve zero probe, using kids as that’s the way progress over time , I’m not keen on the sink or swim system which u seem to like . Give them 20 games and they fail , we have on paper. Pretty easy start to the season and a horrible November in there ,
Just won’t be seen for months it seems Frey can play one game injured for two and repeat , Kolli a same as Frey . Kelman prob long gone by the end of the window
Lloyd coming back from bad groin injury he badly needs a loan on league and play a large a oh for games. While there
Madsonhad purple patch but work rate need to improve badly off the ball
Can’t belive ur including Richards in the squad let alone the bench The rest how many league starts do they have between them ?

How did you know I’d be first to respond? Didn’t realise I was in your head that much! Blimey, was just an opinion.
I think Kolli and Varane are probably cooking up trouble somewhere......possibly IN FRENCH. They might even be a sleeper cell who have been secretly activated by one of the Mr Macrons.....

Dunne and Field aside, the rest of your line up are either untested at Championship level, injury prone, or coming off largely uninspiring seasons.
For example: It would be a very tall ask to put Mbengue in the midfield hothouse when he's played there once for Reading in the league below. Equally, will Celar pick up the pieces from his dragon slaying foray over the Severn Bridge or revert to his somewhat languid ways. Cook and Morrison will miss games through injuries.
The bench is want for tried and tested experience as well.
I hope you're right and I am wrong. However, I can see why folks are slightly edgy upon sight of who we've taken over to Girona.

I’m trying to work out how players who didn’t seem particularly injured at the end of last season, get best part of two and a half months holiday laying in the sun, playing golf, generally enjoying themselves, and somehow come back with an injury.
Methinks we may be relying on a number of players, especially up front, who don’t particularly enjoy being professional footballers.
We need to accept Nourry is still developing his selling club model and that we won't see the benefits of this for some time yet. The potential that's being recruited and coming through the academy/DS is as exciting as I can remember. As is to be expected, some won't make it, but I am sure some will and provide us with real value on the pitch and later, in the bank.
An experienced core of Dunne, Field, and Chair has been retained to give stability, with Smyth, Cook, Frey, and even JCS (if we ever see him again) adding to that. They're going to be vital this season, but I think we'll see a couple more established pros brought in before the end of August.

Good point. We have a core of 5 or 6 good pros who I'd now consider 'lifers' at QPR -Dunne, Field, Smyth & Chair. They have committed to the club for the remainder of their peak years, and they'd have done this knowing what would be happening. If it works, they know they could play PL in a couple of years, their best shot.
Who would fans rather see playing? A 32yo Lee Wallace type signed on a free for one last pay day trundling along or a 18yo Brazillian flying up and down the wing, learning his trade, but mega exciting, who if it works the club can sell for a big profit? If fans want to be stuck in this dog shyte league, then go with Lee Wallace.
I think Varane has the same injury that Dunne had v Millwall last season.
Do you think so Bazz?
Bit nervous about losing him. Also would be sad to miss out on seeing him develop in his second Championship season. If it's true presumably it's a) a decent offer and hopefully b) we've identified a reasonable replacement. We're already one player light in DM we can't afford to be two players light. And before anybody suggests it Colback is not the answer.

Its our club model. Buy low and sell.high. we shouldnt be afriad. Its how we build the club. Dont get hooked on a player based in one season

Harsh on Wallace who I thought did well for us but agree with the point that Esquerdinha is exciting.
