Few people have a problem with those who apply to come to the UK legally, obey all the laws, follow all the rules, assimilate and work in the system. I know a guy from India, a lovely fella who works as a security guard. It's cost him the best part of £30k, on a security guard's wages, to obtain legal status in the UK for himself and his family.
He'd have been better off rocking up on a dinghy. | |

Apparently Warwickshire police have tried to cover it up as they dont want another Epping scenario in Nuneaton.

Sounds about right, with the small print addendum that those approved for asylum have 56 days from receiving the official letter before they must vacate their hotel accommodation. However, if these persons, who are now officially refugees, have no means of support it becomes the responsibility of the local authority to arrange accommodation for them, and there are reports that several LAs are paying for hotel rooms to meet this obligation. If that is the case then behind the apparent good news of a fall in Home Office-funded hotel rooms, the true story may be that the LAs are now picking up the tab for many of the same hotel rooms, but just not at the expense of the Home Office. | | | |
