BRACKLEY TOWN 11:45 - Aug 23 with 18338 views | Edindale | Expect us to continue our good form and be positive from the outset rather than playing for a cagey draw. Brackley will be physical and tough but they are part time and our class should shine through. Elsewhere lets hope that one or more of the other contenders slip up. UTD
BRACKLEY TOWN on 17:22 - Aug 23 with 2493 views | Sandyman | Wow, how managerially inept was that team selection? On the back of a super run, with bags of momentum in favour of the 1st team and the fans (which he created), he destroys it. Making a point when other teams have the same fixture schedule, to our detriment, makes Jim look foolish. As predicted. Points are too important. He seems to have forgotten that, again. A right royal fook up on his own head.
BRACKLEY TOWN on 17:23 - Aug 23 with 2498 views | Edindale | No history making consecutive 5 wins on the trot! Disappointing result caused primarily by too many unnecessary changes. Surely 4-5 changes would have sufficed. Irrespective of what squad we put out Brackley are part timers who have a similar fixture schedule and we did not pressurise them. Our defeat has knocked us off the top will have encouraged Southend and FGR who have both won with Carlisle still to play. The doubts will now again begin to emerge given the tame performance. Trying to look for some positives but they will maybe not emerge until we hopefully beat Sutton on Monday. Hope that BJ and the coaching team will have learnt from this and not take similar risks again later in the season.
BRACKLEY TOWN on 17:24 - Aug 23 with 2494 views | Trev | Jim deserves all the criticism he is going to get after that. Moronic decision making and sums up why I fear he is not good enough to get us promoted. He talked about being more ruthless after the game midweek and then does that. At least Greg will hold him to account...

BRACKLEY TOWN on 17:19 - Aug 23 by Yorkshire_Dale | Well where to start on this, Soppy B*llocks needs to get his tin hat on as I'm sure there is a lot of fan's flak coming his way tonight. Completely lost all momentum and given every team in the League something to laugh about. ....."Dale dicked by new part-timers" He had a new record start at his finger tips today! Did Jason Taylor and Matty Done stand up to his crazy decision? |
What if they agreed with it? Nobody knows. Thats why it would have been good to see the lead up this week, but we don’t. There’s been enough ‘we’re better with them involved’ so the same applies after a complete failure like today. We can’t have it both ways to suit an argument. McNulty should take the ultimate responsibility though, he picks the team and he totally messed it up today.

BRACKLEY TOWN on 17:26 - Aug 23 with 2450 views | SaxonDale | So poor and frustrating. The best feel good factor we've had in years deflated through naivety from McNulty. One of the biggest criticisms I've given to McNulty in the past is he is too much of a textbook coach at times. Yes, theoretically speaking, rotating the team could have seemed a viable option against Brackley but did he take into account the boost it would give to Brackley? The deflating of momentum on Wednesday's game? Jim said performance levels will never be at their best first week of the season as player's haven't got up to speed with the league so why go through that process twice with two sets of 11 players? As others have said, if rotation was that important then change 6 today and 5 on Monday. Stating the obvious, but it's bloody hard to win a league, especially this one and Jim has unneccessarily put himself and the team under pressure. For me this result will go down with the Spennymoor and Southend ones as an ugly blotch on McNulty's record. Won't go into individual thoughts on players as I want want to detract from this being solely on McNulty.

Three games into the season professional footballers don't require a rest, I've said it before and I'll most likely say it again Big Jim never seems to learn for his mistakes nor does he admit to having made mistakes, how he has managed to screw up what was a brilliant start to the season beggars belief but hardly surprising, I'm hoping that he'll offer Dale Fans his rationale for making 11 changes, thats the least he can do !

BRACKLEY TOWN on 18:07 - Aug 23 with 2018 views | dannyuk | Changing 11 puts heaps of unnecessary pressure on all 11 starters today to perform after Wednesday's result, and the defeat has probably now dented their confidence. All for his selfish point-making about a schedule every other team in the division has, including the part-time clubs like Brackley. Good coach, incompetent manager. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
BRACKLEY TOWN on 18:17 - Aug 23 with 1939 views | rich_dale | Has to go down as one of the worst managerial decisions we've ever seen - maybe not just for us but in football generally. Could see it coming when the team was announced. After one of the best performances in recent memory and such a feelgood atmosphere around the club, to change every single player caused a huge momentum loss and was yet another self-inflicted wound. As a relatively experienced manager he shouldn't be making mistakes like this. This can't be repeated, although last season the error in playing Hogan as a wide CB which cost us v Boston was then repeated in our most important game of the season, so who knows. All basic stuff and I thought that adding Taylor and Done to the staff would provide the additional voices needed to avoid this sort of thing. Squad rotation is not meant to be 180 degree rotation, should be making a handful of changes today and then another handful on Monday and retain some continuity, as I suspect pretty much all the other managers did today. It does nothing for squad cohesion. Wonder how the 11 that started are feeling now, not that the defeat is their fault at all. Whether this was making a statement or trying to keep everyone happy it was disrespectful to the fans and to Brackley and resulted in us losing to a part-time team who are experiencing the same schedule. It also puts massive pressure on the Monday game, where I assume he'll swap everyone again. We may well win but that would do little for the players played today, if none start that game. I reckon this squad is good enough to get promoted, the manager now needs to show he can achieve it. Implementing an A and B team approach is not the way to do it.
BRACKLEY TOWN on 18:25 - Aug 23 with 1861 views | Standishdale | Pathetic. When did we last win 3 in a row? This team is probably good enough to win without any instructions from a "manager", so to change it completely is the sign of a madman. No decent manager looks to the next game before the current fixture is done, it's so amateurish. Play your best team, the team that's got a 100% record, don't f**k about with it. I'm so pi55ed off about today.
BRACKLEY TOWN on 18:27 - Aug 23 with 1847 views | 442Dale | That interview hasn’t helped one bit either. Yes, we had almost all the game and yes we probably should have got a result still, but there was no acknowledgment of so many changes not helping. To then hear those missing today will be back on Monday sends out the wrong message too. If those who had come in and done well today, would it have meant little in terms of keeping their place? It was cleared up about the keeper though. Whatmuff was ill but would have played.

He's heaped unneccessary presure on Mondays game now by disrespecting todays fixture. The players didn't need that from their manager. Three points now becomes even more important and thats the repercussions of todays ridiculous team selection. In effect he's jeopordised both games. [Post edited 23 Aug 19:14]

In the interview he insists they did do very well, implying that he was right to make the changes because this weekend is so "dangerous". Then he goes on to say the lads that played Wednesday will play on Monday... so they can't have done that well today then, can they? Think before you speak, Jim, you sound foolish.
BRACKLEY TOWN on 18:42 - Aug 23 with 1700 views | Creepy | A manager who can't manage. Spennymoor, Southend, Brackley If I own the club, I look at those 3 games and the conclusion is that someone else needs to be in charge. Good squad assembled but he isn't the man to take us forward. With the wealth of the owners, a severance payment would probably be the best investment right now.

He made 11 changes because it's a dangerous weekend game as someone was injured at this point last season....Is anyone having that crock of crap as an excuse? You effed it up Mcnulty just admit it and move on, you would earn a lot more respect by being honest....

Nobody is excusing the failings, today especially, and the arguments about long term suitability are valid with questions still to be answered, but if people want him gone then what do you think would happen next? Would the players be all in with another manager? Would the club be prepared for pressure from outside? Would there be another manager available to take it on who we know would do better? Today was an absolute disaster, McNulty has to take the ultimate responsibility for it. But if anyone wants him sacked, fine. Stick to it and don’t talk about the positive change after the next good win. Because we’ve been here before, then we won a few. And let there be no misrepresentation of my position. I’m not supporting his decision making today at all.

It's not the losing it's how we are losing un necessary games via absolutely crazy decisions that are entirely on his head. It can't carry on we have lost out too much because of them the last couple of seasons. Talk about putting a big black cloud back over the club again after there were signs of better days ahead again.

Agreed. The way we lose games is a major concern. The decision making in general. The point is, if people really want him gone and believe we can’t achieve success with him here, then the next good win becomes pointless. See the responses to the Gateshead game. How can that be enjoyed if you believe the manager will ultimately fail because he has done before? May as well say “great win but still want him sacked”. At least that’s consistent.

There was a real conformation for me today, we can't win the league with this manager, his decision making wont allow it. That's a shame because with a win today and momentum building we could have been off and running and when rival clubs are chasing it builds the pressure on their fixtures. We wont win the play offs neither because he will find a reason why we can't and he'll make sure everybody knows, including the players.

You know I really wanted him to succeed and up to mid season last season I was 110% behind him but that all changed. I accepted that he wouldn't be going anywhere in the close season so gave him another chance but yet again he proves he just isn't up to the job and won't take what is arguably our best squad in a very long time anywhere and will drain any kind of skill set the players have. I really want him to prove me wrong but I'm afraid he never learns from his mistakes either through naivety or stubbornness.
