What the f*ck is going on with him? Obviously, the club won't be shedding a single shaft of light on it, so is anyone ITK?

Hip injury in training in January, then surgery, and we're now nearly 8 months on in September. The news blackout is just unreal. What did he do to his hip - eat it?

At what point do we just try to come to an agreement on this fella's contract? He's 28 next month and he's played barely 150 games!

Hip replacement I think.

Maybe the club pays him when he plays, when he's out injured insurance cover pays for the time out? Surely every player is covered by insurance in this modern professional world of competitive big money sporting era?

We should have sold him when we had the chance.

Spot on.

I thought the insurance was to cover loss of earnings for a career ending injury.

I remember Tony Roberts had lots of ops and nerve damage on his fingers, so he was paid up. Then went to play non-league (Dagenham?) when they got really far in the FA Cup he had to pay back his payout or something similar?

When they got promoted to the Football League I think, in the mid 2000s.

I'd be astonished if pro football clubs have insurance for sick pay.

Not sure the premium would make the insurance worth while! Especially at QPR.

I doubt very much, he prefers to be on the treatment table almost permanently.

It can cause depression in a lot of cases.

JCS - if he wasn't always injured, could get a run out for a lower level premiership team, but sadly am certain this will always be the case for him.

To have the talent and be aware you have and just hardly ever be fit, must be amazingly frustrating in polite language.

However, when he does return, I expect he will do extremely well in half a dozen games and then get an injury that puts him out for three months and then suffers a setback in training that means he will be out for the season.

I appreciate lots will say they would love to be in his position ie the money he is on, but sadly his football career for me is tarnished and almost extremely unlikely that things will change.

Whenever his contract is up, he will be gone.

I suffered nerve damage whenever the ball was near Tony Roberts so I want paying out too.

Very fair and balanced.

Sadly, and while at the polar end from JCS, I can relate. No matter what you try, the body struggles. And yes, it's sad and can get you down. However, it must be exponentially worse for a guy who's had the opportunity to go far in the game because when fit, he's quality and but for injuries, who knows how far he could have gone.

I always felt sorry for Charlie Owens, Luke Amos, and their ilk. So close, and yet, so far. Must be heartbreaking for them.

No one is going to take JCS on unless it's on heavily weighted wages linked to his ability to play. Equally, in constantly having to come back from injuries, there must come a time when you say: I've had enough, I just can't do it anymore! Not something you'd want anyone to go through.

Here's the rub.

If a player is perpetually injured then I have sympathy for them.
However, if same player is miraculously fit to play an extended run of games every time their Contract is coming to an end then, sorry, but I for one am going to get a bit "suspicious".

Not saying JCS is swinging it but my jury is out.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I do it all the time too, but Matthew Rose averaged 30 games a season for us overall.
