In Advanced Talks With Edwards on 08:30 - Sep 1 with 4704 views | dm97 | Last year we left our loan spots relatively open until January - which worked well with Edwards coming in - and given our proclivity to blow up with injuries I imagine we might do the same. So, doubt we’ll be super busy…but it is qpr

Two weeks without a game and zero transfer speculation. Shut down the forum Clive and enjoy your time off. Oh no, wait Eze playing for England, but now he has finally been sold and we have our monies, talking of the man, off limits too !!! Three months, the transfer window - way too long !!!

Don't forget though that, although our transfer window closes today, so we can't buy anyone, in previous years there have always been foreign transfer windows still open leaving the risk of losing someone. Thought that would cheer you all up

I was watching MOTD just now and they had someone on there to literally discuss the deadline deals. On a highlights show. They also had Henry VIII on to talk about the Field of the Cloth of Gold, which seemed a bit more relevant.

JCS back this week, Cook still around. What a great problem to have. I know people would rather we go for a midfielder, but if you have a chance to sign Sir Ronnie you don't turn that down | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Absolutely, against Leeds nonetheless and didn't look out of place at all. What are Southampton thinking getting rid of this stud

Pretty clear cut to me especially after Saturday: Mbengue. For mine, he was caught out of position too often, should have been sent off, could have conceded a penalty if the Charlton player went down, not aerially-dominant, general loose cannon. At this stage, he's not first-choice at championship level. Even if the Edwards move were not to materialise, I believe that we will need to change the centre-half pairing for Wrexham, as I fear Kieffer Moore would monster that pairing, if left unchanged.

In my opinion I did think he was lucky not to see red on Saturday after that tackle on Kelman

And Nathan Jones bleated on about it. He was, of course, correct but in this particular case.... Mwah ha ha ha ha ha!!!

That would be interesting seeing how they have Varane as the big next sale. An 8 he is not.

Yes, a real game changer. I am amazed they don't seem to rate him as highly as we do, so please God this happens...

Southampton have just signed another defender called Jelert from Copenhagen, so maybe that puts Handsome Ronnie further down the pecking order at the saints... Fingers crossed....

That defender Saints signed is a right back though isn’t he? Can’t get my head around the club having enough money for Edwards on a permanent- and if we could get that done - that it’s not the best use of that money overall

Id argue its a fantastic way to spend the money. Low risk as he has shown his pure quality, young, England u21 player who just won the euros. He elevates us and has high sell on value. Ticks every single box for me.

We're also going to need more than two CB's given our injury record. I don't see Morrison or JCS doing a full season.

I recall people saying this word for word about Saito. His potential, being in the U21 England team means he's in that pipeline to become a potential England senior CB. Return on investment is likely if he carries on his trajectory. Most importantly of all, from all reporting it seems he really wants to be here. I think they've done a good job recruiting the right type recently and long may that continue
