Smyth excellent first half, Saito excellent when he came on. But out of players that started and finished it has to be Kone right ? Presence up front, and a cool as a cucumber finish that is so refreshing to see from a QPR striker
Saito changed the game, but Kone’s all round game was superb. He is a monster. Best number 9 since Austin the first time around. Think he might end up better.

Kone so physically imposing. At times holding off players with ease
Its between them two. I would give it to Saito. He just changed the game when he got on the ball. The 2nd goal changed the game as well. Kone can finish though and is hopefully the goal scorer we have been looking for.
Kone’s link up play was excellent, fantastic awareness regarding his teammates positioning. Proper handful as well, their no 5 Jones certainly wasn’t enjoying himself!
Saito for me, won us the Match (huge relief) when he came on and earnt us a big chunk of that fee! Kone was good, as were Madsen especially 1st half, Smith 1st half, both LB's, Varanne looked fitter than at Coventry but not quite there yet. M'buengi mostly good though he could of given them a pen if their player had gone down. Don't know why Walsh was routed on the spot for their goal and some of his kicking was awful, but good on crosses. Dunne not at his best at all and Morrison suspect at times. Think many other Championship teams will score a few if we are that poor in that back 5, we need Nardi back, but great we banked those 3 points today.
Cripes, thought Kone looked good and a breath of fresh air, but we've gone early on this board today... £20m here and better than Austin mk 1 on another thread!
Until the Koki magic, thought Charlton were nailed on to win it, we were poor...noone knows their role. Walsh should not start the next match. But of course absolutely delighted with win and blimey Kone looks the real deal. Great stuff.
Kone’s scored as many goals in his first game and a half as Celar did all of last season. Early days, but it looks like he might potentially be the striker we’ve been waiting for. Also good to see Saito and Smyth address the big criticism of them from last year, namely a lack of end product.
Still plenty to work on across the team, but today was a really promising response to last weekend’s debacle in several areas.
Amusing moment was when Kelman started warming up, running toward the Loft he acknowledged the crowd huge round of applause and then he realised it was for Koki warming up behind him.

Walsh probably thought Mbengue was going to head it away but it fooled everybody. Walsh made a decent save from Campbell and dealt with the aerial assault. Needs to work on his distribution, which is patchy at best. MOM between Saito and Kone. Probably the latter for 90 mins rather than 25.

Thought he was ok/good. That will do for me. But I've read comparisons to Les and sorry, thats just crazy. Early game he was chasing a ball into the area, and their CB just waltzed past him. He has no pace and thats ok because he may well have all the other attributes. Admittedly its the first time I've seem him and Keen to see more.
But honestly night and day. Celar was a notional fox in the box who never scored. But beyond lack of goals, he literally had no impact on the game. Didn’t run behind, didn’t link up, didn’t hold up the ball, wasn’t an aerial threat. He was frankly useless
Kone has already equaled his goal tally but it’s so much more than the goals. His back to the goal game was phenomenal and when he plays w chair and Saito, that is going to be lethal. He consistently made good runs including the run and dummy that facilitated the first goal. He was active in the box including on the corner where Morrison tried the bicycle kick. He also took his goal rly well and worked incredibly hard
Only slight knock is that he wasn’t great in the aerial duels but that’s nit picking and he wil surely improve
Even without the goal that was an incredibly impressive performance and we may have found a gem
