Yes, it's all feeling pretty good right now. Two wins on the bounce, promising signings, some feeling of genuine excitement and enjoyment at last.

Don't want to tempt fate but Armstrong and Kelman out for Burrell and Kone is genius in its simplicity! Someone must be given credit for that.

Damo62 nowhere to he seen but on a losing match thread, posts well into double figures about how poor we are and that the club is rancid from top to bottom. I really cant relate to that kind of support. Find it most strange !!! Great win today. Well deserved. [Post edited 13 Sep 19:12]

Such a sweeping statement. How on Earth do you know what people are up to or have going on in their lives ? Not been able to post on here today as ( I did manage to see most of the game ) it’s the 15th anniversary of my father in laws passing ….for example , so been with my wife’s family . So, anyway . Without trying to be overly happy on an occasion like today , that was bloody great wasn’t it ? 😀. So impressed with the front 4 with a little special mention for Harvey Vale. Really like what he brings to the side. Burrell will frustrate us all on other days as he does a lot of things wrong but he will grow and really could be some player. Stéphan has got some great selection issues coming as long as injuries are kept at bay . And as been mentioned let’s give him huge credit for doing what was right and playing to the strengths of the players instead of forcing a dated and unusable game model on a squad not suited to play that way . Now it’s only 2 wins, so let’s not get carried away . But I didn’t expect that win…. and yes we are still wide open at times , and yes on bad days we’ll get thumped as we give teams way too many chances , but say it quietly but there are some very encouraging signs here . At this stage recruitment does look much better than this time last year . Let’s see where we are in 10 games time but as it stands we have to give the recruitment team credit . Kone’s goal, the whole move was a thing of pure beauty . What a brilliant feeling to win and enjoy another weekend . Bring on next Saturday !!! Come on U R’s !

I go back to Sints' comment after Kone came on for his debut. He's a striker who'll make demands of those around him and won't be shy in telling them what for if he doesn't get them! His shooting is missilesque with a wallop on it like a cobbler's hammer. To be honest, I'd hate to be the ball when he's teeing it up. Given his backstory, good luck to the man!

Saw the other goals on the highlights, great to see us be able to play direct and also go back to front straight through a team for Kone's goal. Majestic stuff!

Can't recall anyone looking really knackered and I think the subs yesterday were also very good. Right players in the right positions and the right time. A much toned down version of Mbengue, except for that odd lunge where the Wrexham player clearly took a dive and the ref gave a freekick for a "foul" inside the box. He looked very composed to me. Esquerdinha getting his development minutes, good to see. Hard to figure out where and how we are going to fit in Poku, Chair, JCS and Smyth. We might have a very luxurious thing calling "squad rotation" to work with soon.

That's hopefully good news for those much-feared three game weeks and the dreaded Christmas period.

Well, 3 of the front 4 had a pre-season (or nothing) elsewhere, which seems to help. Burrell seemingly can run fast for the majority of the game. Kone looks like he will just get fitter but he lasts 90mins quite easily. That attack took a lot of pressure off us in the first half and Wrexham thought it was good to just bypass midfield, which was good for us until they fixed it second half. I thought Wrexham’s subs were better than ours in terms of order, but we got there in the end and we had good options, maybe we could just think a bit more about game management with our more experienced subs. Not complaining about the result and Demebele was better off the bench but one more DM earlier on for example would have been sensible. 1st world issues with squad selection and rotation but the three game weeks need managing better than we have done previously. Here’s hoping we can do that and no one else breaks a wrist or gets leprosy midweek.
