Give Will Still more time 18:05 - Sep 25 with 3552 views | grumpy | A lot of people are calling for Wills head at the moment but its far too early for that. He has a massive job on his hands,of course his team selections haven't helped him but hopefully its a learning curve. We played well enough at Liverpool to hope there is light at the end of the tunnel. When Liverpool can bring on a 82million player while we bring on a 7 million one(and not a very good one at the the moment) there is only going to be one result. I liked the look of Edwards,Wood and Quarshie in defence and I would like both Léo Scienza and Robinson to start. Hopefully we can buy a centre forward in the next transfer window. Goalkeeper i'm left scratching my head, they both have their weakness's and strengths.
Give Will Still more time on 18:31 - Sep 25 with 2618 views | MytchettSaint | Have people been calling for his head? I think he’s started poorly and needs to start getting a tune out of his team PDQ . I would personally rather see Sports Republic gone before Still. They haven’t got a scooby.

Good Question. Sadly he would have to go,but there is something about him that tells me that wont happen.
Give Will Still more time on 20:57 - Sep 25 with 2375 views | Southamptonfan | He will get more time, but he needs to get wins, sharpish. The fans spent all last season losing every week and aren't about to spend the whole of this season losing too. Patience is wearing thin. We left it too late with Russel Martin. We can't afford to leave it and leave it, if it clearly isn't working. I haven't been convinced with Will Still from the start, but I did sense an urgency in his Sky interview after the game the other night. His frustrations about the same players, making pathetic mistakes, we can all identify with. I hope he can turn it around starting with a win Saturday. We need a good performance and result. I agree about the winning. I feel the passion is being sucked out our fans with every defeat now.

Just stick with him for the season. If he’s sacked they’ll only replace him with someone worse. The Sport Republic way.

I agree. We desperately needed a new striker to score goals and a goalkeeper to replace Ramsdale. Sport Republic gave him Damion Downs and George Long. The terrible recruitment is down to Sport Republic and Spors, not Still. Spors is the one who needs to go. There's no point getting rid of Still now, as we know they'll appoint someone worse. To be fair, Saints' fans are not calling for Still's head, unlike the Rangers fans are with Russell Martin. I've not heard any calls for Still to be sacked at games this season.. From that point of view, I know what you are saying. Another Selles or Juric incoming or potential from the Swiss, Japanese or Mongolian 3rd division. To be honest, the manager situation is always the side show. Sport Republic should be getting the wrath of the fans next, if things don't improve.

‘To be fair, Saints' fans are not calling for Still's head, unlike the Rangers fans are with Russell Martin. I've not heard any calls for Still to be sacked at games this season..’ We’ve had Southampton fans rejoicing that we are in The Championship and that there’s no point being in The Premier League. Well their wish is going to continue as at this present time Southampton FC have no chance of promotion. The Championship was great last time as we were top 6. Not so great when you’re bottom 6. With this in mind, we should see some wholesale changes from the team that lost at Hull then. If he is fed up with the same silly mistakes, he needs to have the guts to drop certain names and stay with a lot of them who played so much better at Liverpool. For me, this will tell us if he can be a success. If he reverts to the same set up and team as Hull, then he is a dead man walking I would say, especially as he has said many times that he will pick players based on performance not on names etc.

We’ve seen it season after season. A result/performance against one of the ‘big boys’ then the next game against anteam around us in the league revert to utter shite. There’s something rotten at Southampton Football Club and that is Sport Republic. Good luck to Will Still. I think he’s banging his head against a brick wall. WE MARCH ON

But we are not playing a team around us tomorrow. We're playing a team that have dropped just 2 points out of 18 so far and a point point lead at the top of the league (albeit in the Championship) Let's see how brave he is tomorrow with his selection

We've seen it with every manager under Sport Republic since they failed to buy Ralph the goalscoring centre forward he asked for: the rearranging of the deckchairs on the Titanic. The continuous downgrading of the squad in every transfer window makes it ever more difficult to find a winning starting XI. The managers try every combination they can think of, and make some big mistakes in the process, like Ralph choosing McCarthy ahead of Forster and Still dropping Robinson to fit the newly acquired midfielders into the team, but ulimately they are all let down by the sale of our best players and the poor player recruitment. I have said it before and will say it again. In the last 18 months, we have not got close to replacing Che Adams. It has been our most costly in a long line of mistakes.

Adam’s has been replaced with Cameron Archer and Damion Downes. They fire more blanks than John Wayne. 🤠

Give Will Still more time on 15:34 - Sep 26 with 1245 views | 1ASIN12 | A few fans were saying after the transfer window closed they thought with the squad we had then automatic promotion should be achieved. A lot of fans said we should be capable of challenging for a play off spot with the squad we have . Personally I’ve always said we should , on paper be challenging for the playoffs however from the games we’ve played we are no where near a top 6 side , far from it . In fact we are getting worse not better . I don’t like Still , didn’t think we should have appointed him but wasn’t surprised given Dragan and co own us . However I do want Saints to win games and have a good season . Ultimately the results on the pitch will decide Stills position 2 important games this week and will probably need at least 3 points to keep us out the bottom 3 by the time we play derby next week . If we are serious about a play off spot push I’d say 6 points is the minimum required from the 3 games . I think someone said after 10 games Martin had 13 points. So we would be there or there abouts .

No point being in the premier league if you don’t spend the money which we won’t. What is the point in seeing your time get smashed every week ? I’m happy to stay down for a while . I’ve seen us in the 80’s come runners up and several top half finishes . The premier league is Shyte can’t stand it . It really wouldn’t bother me if we stayed down for a few seasons and if we ever got new owners who really wanted to take this club forward then really go for it but as I said pointless being in it with owners who won’t spend enough to compete .

I understand what you’re saying. I’d still rather be losing 3-1 at Liverpool (8th March 2025) than 3-1 at Hull (20th September 2025)
