It looks like Rodney scares their midfield into sitting deep, leaving the forwards isolated. Aside from some scuffed shot attempts he's having a very good game again.

The commentary team are full of praise for him too and his ability to carry the ball forwards, so far so good just hope we dont resort to sitting back as they will no doubt get chances at some point

Need to get hold of the ball and bit and calm things down as it just keeps coming straight back at us

This time wasting is embarrassing... good performance other than that. Forest Green chucking crosses in from every angle

Possession with progression.

I posted after the Halifax game that only a win today would make up for that defeat

It has

Well done Dale

Superb away performance. Defensively excellent from front to back.

Great three points. Another calm, composed victory that impressed the home commentators.

It’ll be interesting to see how Savage reacts after a setback. He’s always going to be box office and enthusiastic when things are going well, but that appears to have been an erratic set of choices before and during the game.

We’ve now won away at the sides in second, third and fourth.

Superb, we look very calm and controlled even without the ball, the graft that goes into them sort of game is a massive credit to Jim and all the lads.

Village Green looked a bacon butty short of pace today 🤷‍♂️

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

I thought we were sure to blow it when 11 mins were added on but we kept calm and carried on. Wish I could say the same. I'm still shaking.
Really well crafted 3 points by the sound of things.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

Excellent performance, defensively rock solid and good with and without the ball. We totally negated FGR, it was a 1-0 massacre. A game that should have finished 1-4 had we taken several easy chances. EEL was my man of the match but Gilmour was his usual self, very good. The manager set us up perfectly, well done Jim. We are good enough to win the league and good enough to win the Play Offs. That's the realisation after beating Carlisle and FGR in their own back yard.

In our ten victories we’ve only conceded 3 goals.

With five minutes to go on Wednesday when we were missing chances and not looking like getting an equaliser, how many would have taken a point then and again today in a top of the table clash?

Instead we are a point better off and have leapfrogged Forest Green with games in hand. I’ll take that deal!

Wow. Wonderful performance full of skill, tenacity and some smart gamesmanship. We are seeing this team evolve - they have become that little bit more ruthless. Smith had 2 chances to bury the game but we largely controlled it throughout in my view. Delightful to see Mitchell get hauled off.

Can't deny it that McNulty has found the winning formula except for a few exceptions. Long may it continue.

Their commentators mentioned control and comfort so many times today for us, and that pretty much sums it up. Aside from the 1v1 early on they never looked like scoring - I'd back Whatmuff against Kairo 9 times out of 10 anyway. I thought a lot of the timewasting was a bit unnecessary but it worked out in the end.

The ‘game management’ we’ve often been annoyed with in the past when used by Darren Ferguson sides and others is now something that has been a feature this season.

Can there be a sweepstake each game for which minute our keeper needs treatment?

What a win and what a start to the season! I do wonder how much impact the addition of Jason Taylor and Matty Done have had with our newfound ability to see our games.

The aforementioned tactics are something one of them may have introduced.

Having a whole coaching staff that understands the club because of their time as players (including Lillis) will help as they collectively sing from the same hymn sheet.

Yes, shame one of those chances didn’t go in. But that, that’s chaos theory.

Chaos theory? That'd be start with Rodney and EEL against Halifax, lose both through injury, take a point from the game and lose today

Let's just start our best XI whenever possible; it'd help avoid unnecessary chaos

Very quick look, and I’m sure TVOS will be along at some stage with better info, but our starts during the two most successful recent seasons were the same after 12 games:

W7, D2, L3. 23 points.

30 points from 12 games this time around.
