Glad that game is behind us now and the Imperious Rovers have been downed.

Great show from our lads and right back in business at the top of the tree.

Now let's hit York with some Dale dynamite on Saturday.

PS No Tinkering please.

After all the **** we went through with the Roger regime and hostile takeover, the fight we put in to save our club, the horrendous legal threats Dale Trust and our directors went through, today feels wonderful.

"Karma, derived from the Sanskrit word for "action" or "deed," is an ancient Indian concept fundamental to Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism, referring to the principle of cause and effect where past actions, driven by intention, influence future consequences and experiences."

At last, we're experiencing the good stuff. Would never in my wildest dreams have seen Jim winning 10 of the first 12. A history making and brilliant start to the season, to which the players, the manager and his staff, and the Ogden family deserve every credit.

Thank you.

We are living the dream and those days are well behind us. Thanks to those awkward buggers that exposed and fought tooth and nail for the club throughout it's darkest days.

And then onto the Ogden's who must enjoy seeing the fruits of their labour.

It's truly a great time to be a Dale fan again. Up the Dale down the Ale

Indeed Sandman. Well said
.yes, we sometimes have a grumble about various things here and there, but we were there when the going was really tough and but for you and several dozen like minded supporters, we would be playing the likes of the club who had to completely start again..

Very well said. Toxicity removed from the boardroom by fans who put their life's on hold to save their club. The ones who band the word 'Toxic' around were nowhere to be seen having fought the corner for the likes of their very good friend David Bottomley. In some cases they were on social media proudly supporting a neighbouring team ( despicable timing) while Dale fans and good people in the boardroom were desperately trying to save the club. They know who they are, nowhere to be seen when the bullets were flying but quick to return now that the club's in a better place.

When the club was in dire straits hundreds of fans rallied to the cause. Protested on the club car park during covid in an effort to get Bottomley and his cronies out of the club, much to the anger of his sidekicks, the hangers on and free loaders. Even people associated with the Supporters Trust at the time who supported Bottomley. A Supporters Trust totally blindsided and sleepwalking towards disaster. It took so called 'toxic' fans to sound the alarm bells to wake them up. A bell that a few had been desperately ringing for a long time and derided for doing so.

When bad people needed removing from the board dozens of fans stepped up to the plate. Simon Gauge and his men stepped forward with their money and time etc..those act as deserved 'Testimonials' to what people who love this club did at the most turbulent time in the clubs history...people who gave rather than seeking to take from the club. Those who supported Bottomley and no doubt slagged off well meaning fans did nothing, a gravy train dried up. You can't re-write history.

Time to move forward now though but let's not forget and those seeking to take the moral high ground would do well to look in their own cupboard for skeletons before they cast judgement on others, while painting themselves as squeeky clean. If putting your head above the parapet makes you 'toxic' then i'm guilty as charged. It's done to highlight concerns though which the club should really know about. Turning a blind eye, brushing things under the carpet shouldn't be what this club is about anymore. The Ogden family deserve better than that.

Up the Dale and thank you to the Ogden family for steering the club into calmer waters. Let's bask in the glory of being top of the league for a while.

10 wins from 12 is unbelievable.. credit to Jim, his team and the players.

Kairo missed his early chance and got dragged. Has he cupped his ear yet to the FGR fans?

Should have put the game to bed with further goals second half. Dale need to stay top now and as others alluded become win ruthless.. Barnet/Chesterfield/Wrexham/Stockport all have shown the way in recent seasons.

I think this season in the NL is going to be very different and will come down to the last few games to determine who are the champions. It's going to be a rollercoaster of a ride and glad we are in it and leading the way at the moment

The thing I notice most is that several "partnerships" are emerging in this team.

Whatmuff & EEL
Gordon &Tobi
Beckwith & Berkoe
East & Gilmour
Mani & Rodney

Even McBride & Barlow though rivals for the same role.

These can only come through a good blend of skills and mutual understanding of each person`s game. All wrapped up in a successful team performance. Even with Tobi missing, Moss stepped in well.

I think the skipper has been outstanding this season. I lost count of how many corners he faced yesterday, but he was instrumental in clearing most and that in a packed penalty area. Still don`t like all 11 back.

A word for Bercoe, whose positional play was excellent throughout and he does get forward well.

Mani was well held, but I don`t think he will meet any better Centre Halfs than Ryan Inniss, all 6`6" of him. FGR badly lacking attacking strength.

Bercoe is only on loan til December. Salford are 5th in Div2 though lost the last 2 games. Could we sign him or at least extend the loan? He would be an excellent addition to the squad.

I imagine this would depend on how long Pritchard ends up being out for, and how well he plays when he does come back. He was very good at the start of the season.

EEL’s performance yesterday, leadership and importance to the team have received well deserved praise, he’s proven a lot of people wrong during his time at the club.

All that said, watching the highlights and that Mitchell chance which was seen as pivotal, it came as a result of an error by the captain. Fine margins between heroes and villains, wins and losses!

Just got back. My mate wandered away from following a Prem team and now takes a passing interest in FGR. He trekked down with me and said we were better all over the pitch and the half dozen most influential players were all wearing Dale shirts.
Honourable mentions to Berkoe,Gilmour, Gordon, Mani, Beckwith, but Devante and Rodney and EEL were the standouts to me.
We will loose some games but don’t need to fear any team now. Great that the management can now plan more on imposing ourselves the opposition than thwarting them.
A great weekend thanks in main to the team.

When he's on his game, it really must seem to opponents that they're facing two players at once...

Not a partnership as such, but Whatmuff and Mani do a fair amount of discussing when the opportuniy arises.

Other than Mitchell's miss early on, he did sod all yesterday and gave a masterclass in why he will never be a good footballer. In this nutshell there lies a bigger picture.

Eyebrows were raised when McNulty took the decision to release Mitchell. On the evidence so far he's made the right call.

Likewise, eyebrows were raised when he appeared to put 9 months' trust in a 17 year old keeper. On the evidence so far he's made the right call.

Likewise, eyebrows were raised when he put his faith in the ageing EEL to lead the team from the back. On the evidence so far he's made the right call.

We can argue about the style of football, and team selections, but ultimately the Manager will live or die by the big decisions he makes. His tinkering annoys me, and the tippy tappy of recent seasons was appalling. But, and it's a big but....the big decisions he made in the summer are, so far, showing him to be a man of good judgement.

I still think he got it wrong at Brackley though as I always think you should put out your best team if you want to win the match.

There won’t ever be a justification for the Brackley game that will make sense.

Recruitment wise, year on year, we’ve definitely got better. The concerns are often around the quantity rather than the quality, but they could just be my own.

Yes Mitchell scored a lot of goals for us last season but you could see the instant Jay Bird arrived what a difference it makes when you can have a forward who finishes and can occupy defenders and hold the ball up. Mitchell unfortunately is very limited in his overall game and even yesterday when he did really well to turn EEL his awful scuffed shot was really poor. I will make a bold claim here - but Forest Green have no chance of finishing top with him as their first choice centre forward.

Whose eyebrows? Everyone i know saw the same thing. Rubbish who might score the odd goal because he was a tall lad.
Otherwise he's just not very good.

Just a word for the KG goal - hadn't realised how good it was. Looked a bit scruffy from the original camera angle but the goal line angle today shows what a great run from deep it was; we've evidently worked effectively on both defensive and offensive corners

Exactly right.
I was reading an article last week on the complexity of corners these days and the use of decoys and blockers in a similar way as employed in the NFL.
I noticed that Gilmour made it his business to legally block McNicholas on the line and prevent him from coming for the corner.

Seems harsh.

I don't recall anyone questioning the manager over Mitchell's release.

Its a shame for him and us it did not work out. I wish him well and success at FGR.

Another bit of praise for EELs leadership - I loved how he cut short his celebrating of the goal to run back to the penalty area and support Gilmour caught up in the aftermath scuffle.

Being languid can often come across a bit dispassionate but I thought that moment showed just how much he cares and has his team's back, a side to him that Jim must see regularly to have instilled his trust in him.

as much as im happy with the results and position in the league, i cant help but still feel mcnulty is a bit soft. almost reminds me of arteta at arsenal where it will get towards the end of the season and he bottles it. hes got my full backing and at the minute he deserves full credit but cant help how i feel with this one. do any other hardcore dale fans feel the same
