3-0 up inside 25mins... no Kane... and carrying on scoring for fun after the Serbia game

OK it is Wales... but we are looking really good

Turned over to watch the Scotland game which is at least competitive (at the moment).
And doesn’t have Matterface’s inane commentary either.

It must feel like entering a Formula 1 race in a Ford Escort for the Welsh team.

I think one of those former Soviet republics of uranium miners and donkey wallopers would put on a better show. Wales aren't great either. #baddum-tss

England look fairly decent against a dodgy Welsh side. I do wish they would cut out pratting about in front of the goalie. Nearly cost them a goal and it would have been all their own fault.

Does anybody know why both teams had their surnames on the back of their shirts in the first half but not in the second half?

Revert to type second half.

Has demonstrated we have one CF in Kane with an average (at this level) back up to him but after that... zip.

I'm sure the watching world enjoyed seeing Tax Dodger Henderson and Ruben Loftus Cheek as the midfield axis second half. Far more entertaining than Bellingham or Foden or Eze or Grealish

What a fantastic goal by Saka... damn that kid is such a talent and should be playing for his local club.

can't argue with that.
was bored after 20 minutes...
the ground started emptying after an hour.
was silently happy with 3-0.

the welsh seemed happy......

strange days....i'm sure we could have scored a few more after being 3-0 up with a few more shots instead of trying to walk it in.....
keep the home crowd interested.

At least sign your resignation letter…….

Haven't club managers been sacked/resigned after criticising their fans?

A bit of a liberty, if you get 3-0 in 29 minutes and don't score anymore, then what do you expect. I switched over to see Scotland, who were dreadful until they went 1-0 down. Then it got pretty entertaining.

Ok, not great oppo and the worry for England is that we won't play a decent side in a competitive game until next year's WC (assuming qualification of course!)

However, if we allow ourselves to indulge, then Heir Tuch has got: Madueke (who was excellent prior to injury, and must be a shoe-in if fit), Bellingham (you'd have to think he'd be included in the end and this is all to give him a kick), and then Palmer and Foden (if they hit form, but maybe only one of them might force their way back into the fold). I suppose you'd add Grealish into the mix, but surely he's to far back; but you never know.

Still like to see Wharton at Palace get a look in, but unlikely now. Shame, he looks mustard. Either way, some big names are going to be disappointed!

We've had England games at Villa, Newcastle, Forest and Wolves recently and the atmosphere was either dead or they were booed off so not sure why he is making this a thing. He does seem to want to pick a fight quite often.

Anyway on the game thought England were brilliant first half then game died a bit second half. I think with an extended World Cup it's good that we are showing we can play well and beat teams without some of the big names which might mean we can rest a few of them in the early stages next summer rather than them all being knackered in the later stages

The entitlement of England football fans always amazes me. What the bloody hell even is the England football team? There's nothing on earth comparable to it. We're not particularly good at football inherently as a nation and we never really have been.

Sir Gareth Southgate was cast aside after pivoting Hodgson's Iceland debacle into a World Cup semi final, two Euros finals and another World Cup quarter final. He didn't have the tactics apparently. We'd never win anything with him. The only England manager in our entire history to win a knockout game against a major footballing nation outside of England. But yeah get rid as he didn't win either of the two finals he delivered for the first time in 50 years+.

So they turn to an elite tactician who has won every single qualifying game he's played so far. That ain't good enough either. We didn't want him. He should resign apparently, in October, 8 months before a World Cup, with a literally perfect and unblemished competitive record.

I honestly think there is probably only one nation on Earth that could beat their next door neighbours 3-0 at home, have to do it in front of 80k fans that sit there chatting throughout the match, looking forward to the next Mexican Wave and then face calls the next morning for the coach to resign. We sit there like X Factor judges for every match between tournaments poking them with a stick in their cage demanding to be entertained... 3-0 ain't good enough lads, I was bored for an hour. A disgrace.

And then we're all baffled as to why we don't win major tournaments and why elite English players consistently say in retirement that they didn't particularly enjoy playing for England.

Absolute madness.

Last two games have been very impressive for England.
Clear system and style of play now. We look very strong and durable with Andersen and Rice as the midfield two.
One imagines Bellingham comes in for Rogers eventually but the side seems very settled and hopefully the shoehorning in of players not in their position will help us (which is something Southgate never used to until the last Euros when he decided to play all the players all the time)

A bit of an exaggeration PS. I get and agree with the history bit with GS but I don't think anyone's saying TT needs to go. Just a few comments in response to his contentious remark.

I actually think Tuchel is building nicely and the shift in the trendy styles of football might just suit us.

Didn't mind his comments about the crowd, home crowds at Wembley have never been great. Maybe its time to consider an "active" section at one end? I remember way back in the 90s at Venables first game as manager a few of us trying to get songs going, it was hard work! Although we did have some success at times.

Players seem to like him too.

Few figures from the TV overnights.

England v Wales, which you would think would be a bit of a draw on free to air TV, averaged just 2.7m viewers on ITV last night and that dropped to 2m in the second half when The Celebrity Traitors started on BBC1 - that averaged 5.6m.

Grimsby v Man Utd in the same timeslot on ITV, with a split feed on Sky Sports, got 3.6m viewers a month ago.

England always seem to qualify for tournaments relatively easily, win most matches, comfortably. It's pretty boring really but nobody's fault. I wouldn't bother going myself if I was an English fan, there has to be some level of competition to make it worthwhile.

On a side note, it's about time England won something but I also don't think they are quite good enough.

Yeh qualifiers used to be a really big deal. Norway, Poland and Holland under Taylor. Italy away under Hoddle. Croatia under McClaren.

Now basically everybody qualifies for everything because MONEY. Makes the 2 years between tournaments largely quite dull.
