Just watched a Documentary on ITVX about the PPE scandal during covid called The Covid Contracts : Follow The Money.
Just unbelievable. I was aware of the PPE part of the story and the Tory mates fast lane to raking in millions, but it went further with the Flow Test and PPR tests and then the track and trace app. Then there is also the moving, storage and destruction of the PPE that was not used or not up to standard. A total of 39 billion.
These fvckers will get away with it as well, despite the enquiry. |

Two into it and it seems a mere case of wash, rinse, and repeat the 'Peaky Blinders' model. I know the same bloke wrote or directed the two, but it feels very formulaic: sets look the same, even same character types with the Shelbys.

I was looking forward to this as there a stellar cast of ITV drama stalwarts in it.
Bits of it are brilliant but I thought it tri d to do too much and be too clever rather than simply dramatise a scandalous but really interesting story.
It lost me in large sections as never really flowed
Tenant like oking at the camera all the time with knowing gazes and then narrating to the viewer annoyed me.
Maybe it’s just me and I watched it in the wrong mood….. | |

I've had the privilege of seeing next week's episode early. Ep6 - the penultimate episode, and it's one of the finest pieces of TV I've seen in recent memory. Up there with True Detective Season 1 quality of writing. Hopefully it sticks the landing. | | | |

Just finished The Hack. I wasn't sure at first how I felt about the style of the drama, breaking the 4th wall and some of the graphics, but in the end it didn't get in the way of the horrific actions by some of the tabloid press.
I read the book when it came out and it made me angry then, and watching this has made me angry again, especially when they add at the end that part 2 of Levinson was shut down by the Tories, and that this Labour Government, (which promised Levinson part 2 would go ahead) are not going ahead with it.
Overall a good watch. |  |
