Half decent tv 06:36 - Apr 29 with 1053746 views | LadbrokeR | I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.

Half decent tv on 10:03 - Sep 9 by LadbrokeR | Just finished watching under the bridge. It was a story about the murder of a girl reena virk set on Victoria island Canada . Priscilla Presleys daughter now deceased’ plays a writer who grew up Victoria island. Rena spend a while living in local authority care a situation that she engineered through lying about her dad in order to gain the approval of her peers. I thought there was some interesting characters and it wasn’t too bad. |
Thought that was really good and have mentioned it here before I think. It's a true story and shows up the futility of sticking loads of a perceived "type of character" in one place -- they aint changing and will instead feed off one another. The obsession with Biggie Smalls, gangsters and the "hood image" on that section of the yoot wasn't lost on me and very, very relevant here and now. That's not Lisa Marie in it (who is dead) it's her daughter ie Elvis' grand daughter. I believe she is very much still alive!!

Half decent tv on 12:16 - Sep 5 by daveB | New Series of Dexter was superb, best one since the John Lithgow series Well worth a watch |
Just started watching Dexter: avoided it up until now as I’m not particularly keen on the sight of blood :) Only up to season 2: it’s a very enjoyable watch but how on earth does he make it through 8+ seasons without getting caught?? He ain’t THAT careful and no-one can be THAT lucky surely?? 🤣

To be honest a mate told me that Elviss granddaughter was in it. I think she played the writer ? I’ve read that Rebecca Godfrey, the author whose best-selling true-crime book Under the Bridge died of lung cancer. She was 54.

Half decent tv on 09:29 - Sep 11 with 6016 views | Orthodox_Hoop | First episode of Task on Sky Atlantic was very good indeed. HBO show, so expect high production values - heavily character driven, well written. Ruffalo his usual good value for money as the grizzled FBI field agent struggling with a family tragedy from the past but Tom Pelphrey has been the standout so far - he was Bunker in Banshee, and he's great as the conflicted family man caught up in some naughty business. A group of mothers from Corby seek justice after their babies are born with disabilities. Very difficult to get the emotional pitch correct in these types of programmes, but I thought they did a great job with this.

One of those you kick yourself for watching until the end. The girl (Sid from Slow Horses) was about the only thing that kept me watching. Her and wanting the smug, spoilt rich kid boyfriend to cop it, but when he did, you’re thinking, oh, but not that badly. More plot holes in it than a certain teams defence at Cov the other week. You’re welcome.

I guess it’s also available on iPlayer and probably a copy on YouTube too for those overseas. I got lucky with the recording, which started early and had an interview with ‘Yeti’ who discussed the BTS work, casting etc. it’s the 30mins prior to the scheduled slot of the main event.

Half decent tv on 10:17 - Sep 23 with 1936 views | R_from_afar | Re "King and conqueror," now I know that it contains things which are pure conjecture, I shan't bother with it. Other opinions are available but for me, content like that needs to stick rigidly to the truth. Another "Mix tape" fan here, we love it. "Alone," the wilderness survival competition, is back on Sky History but a major change of location has added intrigue to it (I love it anyway 😄). This time, they are in a dry, hot desert, the Karoo desert in South Africa, as opposed to somewhere north of the Arctic Circle. This seems to have led to more early "tap-outs"....

Thank you for saving us from such silliness (some of these shows actually look ok in the previews).

Half decent tv on 13:32 - Sep 24 with 1493 views | HAYESBOY | Just watched a Documentary on ITVX about the PPE scandal during covid called The Covid Contracts : Follow The Money. Just unbelievable. I was aware of the PPE part of the story and the Tory mates fast lane to raking in millions, but it went further with the Flow Test and PPR tests and then the track and trace app. Then there is also the moving, storage and destruction of the PPE that was not used or not up to standard. A total of 39 billion. These fvckers will get away with it as well, despite the enquiry.

Yes, I saw that. I was already aware of some of these issues but to see it laid out in monetary terms was sickening. Some very good British companies were sidelined in the greed that importing cheap useless tests from other parts of the world brought. Anyway, I think there might be a thread for this somewhere
