The wot no Everton match thread yet match thread on 22:15 - Sep 21 with 2023 views | Greenbay | What a fantastic effort from our team. QPR into the last 16 of the League Cup. And what great support from the singing fans as we knocked out a Premiership side. Scoring all 8 penalties in the shoot-out - and Seny with a couple of great saves during the match - making the crucial diving save near the left-hand post from Davies (I think it was). Seny is a great commander of his area - catching the ball with supreme confidence. And tonight he showed he is improving as a shot-stopper. We played slick pin-point passing football at 'Premiership' pace for most of the match. If we can reproduce that pace - attacking quickly from the back (instead of the slow build-up) - then we have every chance of that top six finish in the Championship. Let's salute - on a great night - Charlie - two great headers - in the right place at the right time as someone mentioned on this thread. Willock - what quality - what improvement in 12 months - and linking so well with the equally exciting Chair. Salute Amos as a sub on his return after a year following a second horrific injury. That shoot-out penalty must have done him the world of good. Austin and Uncle both proved they can play the full 90 minutes. And Uncle - well what crosses. He's 34 in December - unbelievable. You could go through the whole team and name everyone, including the subs, that played a magnificent part in this success. The only vulnerability - we do have to work on our defending especially when conceding the second following an Everton corner. Just a word on Andros Townsend - who did so well when playing for us - was it on loan - a few years back. He's so good to watch - just wish he was playing for us again with that sort of quality. But this was a memorable night for Rangers. The ground was rocking. And this win - following successive defeats - will have given us a great boost of confidence as we now prepare for our big match at West Brom on Friday. A wonderful game and we have a terrific team to follow.

Excellent summary. I thought Amos looked very good when he came on and what a great night to return to first team action and play a key part in the shoot out. You R'sss!!!!!

Everton sold out their allocation, so the one disappointment for me was to see the Loft looking only 3/4 full. Three games from Wembley. Who's to say we won't/can't make it a cup and promo double after the marker we've been and gone and thrown down tonight? You bloody lov-er-lee Rs!

The wot no Everton match thread yet match thread on 22:30 - Sep 21 with 1662 views | Stainrod | Everyone deserves real credit but wanted to mention Dozzell after that difficult match against Barnsley - thought he was really good tonight because he moved the ball very quickly from the centre halves to the creative players. We have been a bit laboured at that on occasion recently but tonight I thought he really helped make us tick and probably no coincidence we lost a bit of fluidity when he went off.
