Has anyone else seen the awful abuse at Wycombe of akinfenwa ? I it is the same song sung towards Charlie Austin every week. EFL and FA now looking at letting sides walk off. Don’t understand some of the things people sing thankfully not heard any rangers singing the same at away games yet.
I wish we could leave the 'popular' songs that get sung at every ground up and down the country and usually involves being offensive toward an opponent well and truly alone. The 'your support is f'ing sht' one is especially embarrassing. Literally out of a primary school playground that one.
We should sing more songs about our own players like we used to, like the Big Dan one which was inventive, effective, inoffensive and original.
There must be loads of songs where the key word of a chorus rhyme with 'Chair', for example.
Easy to forget the song United fans sung about wenger for years at Old Trafford even sir Alex tried to get them to stop.Speaking of United fans they were superb at our place this season never stopped singingball game no mention of home team players or fans.

That's great support from United especially as they got destroyed and didn't have a sniff in the first half

It's beyond boring hearing homophonic chanting at the Rangers in 2025.
My husband stopped coming years ago. I have a thicker skin and just feel pity at the neanderthals in our supporter base. Can't be easy going through life being that thick.

Well, look, they've said it explicitly there - we're going to get fined by the league, which effects PSR, which effects budgets. I reckon just sing a different song.

This was in 2022. The player in question, Goodwillie, was never selected to play for Raith and the chairman (who signed him) resigned shortly afterwards. The Raith supporters were universal in their condemnation and the club lost support as a result

I'm socially conservative, non-woke and.... even I can see its a shit song, in every way. An even shitter one if it costs the club money. Hoopstar, sorry to hear that, mate.

Much love to your husband, Hoopstar, and to you too.

Change the last bit to w ankers and most of us would agree and even sing it.FB is full of brave individuals threatening to continue with it,and calling people grasses and other names for daring to suggest that its wrong to sing it.

There’s so many other two syllable insults to replace it with

Well i guess a lot of chants arent exactly complimentary regards opposition
I got to say the "glad all over chant" that Palace fans chant is one of the best for me. Its very upbeat and a great chant for a celebration. Wish that was a Rangers chant.
Always found the celery chant despite who it was sung by as kinda funny but today would be deemed misogynistic. Big word but yes everyone is offended by everything these days.
I did find it incredibly weird when i first went regularly to Rangers in early 80s and as you enter the stands, there were signs saying anyone shouting anything abusive or what could be considered was swearing, was liable to be ejected from the ground.
They would probably only have had about twenty people left in there, if they had enforced that one !!!
Anything thats just total homophobic, derogatory towards minorities or arrogant blatant sexism, its not needed or clever and if culprits faced consequences then it would help keep things in check.
While we’re on the subject, it would be nice for our club to do something about the “West London is wonderful” chant. Sung every week at Rangers, seemingly started by the same bloke in Q block with a bit of an obsession it seems, and pretty offensive, particularly given the mixed gender makeup of our fan base.

I don't want to call people thick, but the people posting on the club's own official Facebook page in their full names proudly announcing they will sing it can pretty justifiably be called thick.
