I have included dev squad players who had first team minutes last season but not those (eg Tuck or the lad from Aberdeen) who've had pre-season minutes as realistically we won't know til we see the bench on Aug 9 if any of them are genuinely in the frame...I've made an exception with Esquerdinha unless / until we sign another LB.
I have now bracketed Lloyd and Dixon Bonner away from the main list due to strong rumours of loan / departure...and also Richards, as he seems to have disappeared again.

There is a new Inside Training video on the offy. I didn't see Frey, Celar or Burrell. And no Esquerdinha either - is he injured as he wasn't in the match day squads for the last two friendlies?
There were two young players I didn't recognise from the DS. One with big hair (not the new CB Smith) and the other quite stocky looking. Does anyone know them?
Bennie seemed to be playing as a striker. Perhaps Stephan sees him in that position but I'm not convinced. |

Bennie needs to go out on loan. I'm not convinced he's good enough at this level so it'd be interesting to see what he could do in league 2.

This squad deserves an update and isn't looking quite as worrying now.
A LB and an extra body in midfield would be ideal. Although, I really hope Poku hasn't pulled his hammy that would be a sickener! [Post edited 13 Aug 16:59]

Based on the first few games, We have 8/9 championship level players in our squad.
By all means have 11 good prospects waing in the wings but you need 11 solid championship players.

Going to keep posting on this thread to highlight just how weak the squad is.
A championship team with only 8/9 championship level players (with most currently out of form)
Shocking.
Also, every single squad player should have the ability to step up, otherwise they are a dev player.
How many of our squad can do this?
We've signed a load of Dev players, no where near this level. Now trying to blood them in one of the best and hardest leagues in the world [Post edited 24 Aug 8:16]

Smyth now a midfielder rather than a forward.

As far as I can see, we’ve named all the over twenty ones, except Larkeche, who presumably won’t be fit during the period and Dixon-Bonner, who must be completely out of favour (unless I’ve missed him going on loan or something). [Post edited 4 Sep 16:34]

Smyth was here very young then came back and Chair been here from a young age. I guess this squad is until the start of the january window. I wasn't aware Larkeche was out for the whole season but probably at least until well into the new year, otherwise his admission from the squad in its entirety is harsh.
So in addition to the squad ;
We also have, who could step up and have done also ;
Esquerdinha, Morgan, Bennie, Sutton, Kolli.
For me also from promise shown in preseason any of the three young centre backs could potentially help also-
