Wouldn't it be nice to be able to celebrate it with the same enthusiasm we see for St Patricks Day without being made to feel embarrassed? I do feel it is time the perception changed.
Anyway, here was the BBC presenters take on breakfast time 'Happy St Georges Day to anyone that is celebrating'. Rough translation - 'ah bless'

My favourite St George’s Day tradition is talking about how you can’t celebrate St George’s Day. I’m sure plenty of pubs are. People will be having some form of celebration at home. Most won’t and that’s fine.

You are thrown in jail just for being English, these days.

Happy Saint Georges Day to all across England's green and pleasant land (and Birmingham)
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
I worked for an engineering firm once. There was a bloke called Ted Bunce who had a big St George's flag on his bench April 23rd. He would sing Onward Christian Solidiers, but he always put an H at the start of words starting with a consonant. So it was “ honward Christian soldiers, marching has to war” Don't suppose it would be allowed these days.

Was he a QS by any chance? They like a bit of bunce for rainy days.
St George’s Day is also being celebrated in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine, and Malta. Which is why St. George is more commonly known as the patron Saint of the England World Cup Qualifying Group.
