id hope hadyn is being considered if colback is on his way out the door
Agree. I had heard this was going to happen, but that was a month or two ago and nothing since. Perhaps it has. Perhaps he’ll rock up for pre-season training. Perhaps he won’t.

In summary: Definitely. Maybe.

Can't remember the last time we 'hijacked' a deal
Last time we hijacked a deal? Good question. In extracts from his as yet unreleased autobiography, The PowerPoint & The Glory, Micky Beale says he was all set to manage Sporting Thamesmead when the Argentinian football association asked him if he’d like to run the national team. After a 2-hour long call with Lionel M. he was all packed and ready to go to Buenos Aires. Then an unbelievable offer came in from QPR. The rest is history. The stuff before it b*llsh*t.

Poor Christian. Damned if he's going after players at Lugano and Westerlo, damned if he's going after players at Peterborough. No winning allowed.
FYI. I wouldn't have turned down Edwards, Burrows, Mason-Clark, Szmodics, Toney, just to name a few.
I suspect many would agree. Only problem being we couldn't afford to buy any of those players listed. Lowest transfer fee being over £3million before add-ons.

For a lot of these players, like Clive has said before, why are we not immediately in for Ronnie Edwards after he beats us 3 times in a season at 18 yo? He wouldn't have been £3m then. I also suspect Poku would've commanded a similar fee if not more if he had a long term contract.
My point is the immediate pessimism on here which I understand but goes overboard. Ah we're only going after Peterborough players, he's too young, too small, a 10, we're paying too much.
These are exactly the type of signings we should have been making for years in my opinion. In a much needed position too

Ronnie Edwards current estimated value is £3.2m or there about. IF... Eze does move on he would be the player I would very much want back here because £3.2+m is going to be £10m-15m if he plays like he did last season.

£3.2m? Who is estimating that?
No way Soton would let him go for that, unless there was huge sell ons etc, which would kinda kill the point for us.

Yeah that valuation is awful but is probably just based on Southampton paying 3m for him last summer. We've definitely at least 3x'd that value for them.

What are you talking about, man?!
I actually praised the change to focusing on EFL experience in that post. Just find it slightly bizarre that all the rumours relate to Posh or Reading players. Was a light hearted comment. No need to get so defensive.
I would like to see is sign a wily old pro or two this summer too, and not just stick to under 24s. There needs to be balance in the squad.
Left back and centre forward surely the priorities at present though, no?

Do we need more wily old pros?
We have Cook, Field, Dunne and Chair with extensive experience of the Championship, plus every likelihood of Colback returning for a year.
With Varane, Nardi and Frey all having a year or more notched up in the Championship I think there's enough to accommodate some 23 year olds.
