The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 19:11 - Aug 22 by JamesB1979 | Well, we’ll find out truth in February in the post balance sheet in the accounts |
Perhaps. But this stuff won't appear properly until February 2027. And more to the point, why is that happening? Who are all these anonymous accounts all parroting the same message, and where are they getting that from?

Don’t we get accounts for April 2025 published in February 2026? The post balance sheet note has to include activity after that date until signing of accounts. There was similar note in the last published accounts.

On 2nd point, does it matter? Lots of nonsense on twitter. Truth will be soon in February next year.

I suspect the idea behind a loan is to help ease him in. You can’t expect a 19 year old with two games in Championship football to play a full season.

Agreed, he needs to build up minutes so we don't burn him out like we seemed to do with Morgan last year.

Why. Think good for him to have some competition and experience to help him out. We need to have 2 specialist left backs in the squad and the new lad is only a loan. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

In Feb 2025, QPR published accounts for year/season ending 31st May 2024 - the one that started at Watford under Ainsworth and ended with the Cifuentes miracle. In Feb 2026, the next accounts we’ll see will be for last season - Nourry’s first full year in control. We will find out what the net transfer position was with all those undisclosed fees in and out, although if they at amortising the cost it’ll be masked. We’ll only find out what we’ve spent this summer in Feb 2027, as Clive says. But as I’ve said, they can make it hard to work out what relates to what.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 20:09 - Aug 22 with 3083 views | dmm | If Saito is incoming, is someone on the way out? Smyth has been mentioned as a possibility. Or perhaps Kolli to go out on loan? I just hope Saito coming in isn't because Poku's injury is worse than we have been led to believe.

I mentioned the Smyth thing only because he hasn't signed the deal offered to him, as per WLS last week. If he is refusing to sign then he will probably be sold, which is fair enough. However, if we have bought Saito for £5m then that is f#ckin ridiculous. He worked hard last year, yes lots of fans loved him as he ran around with a smile on his face and bowed when he was subbed off. Brilliant, well done mate, my Nan could of done that. 3 goals and 3 assists in 39 games is not £5m. Not even £2m in my book. Pish poor signing when we have a huge gap in CM. The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 20:51 - Aug 22 with 2731 views | rbee | At the end of last season we were told that Saito's transfer fee was too big for us to consider. Despite a relatively successful loan spell with us and interest from at least one other club his transfer fee has been slashed. A little strange.

We don't know for certain what the fee is. Whatever it is, though, there must be a question around whether the Eze money is being used for this.

He doesn’t need competition he needs minutes. You’ve spent all summer telling us that the project is the golden path (which I agree with) and now it’s back to old hats and dog eat dog. Carry Esquerdinha for a season I say. We have enough cover in Vale and Mbengue, even if the latter was a bit shaky v Watford.

Bang on re: Saito and if true, that money would be better utilised in a more pressing position by way of need, such as CM. Yet Kolli, physical specimen compared to Saito, as well as contributing 5 goals and 2 assists in just 21 games, is deemed as not being good enough and should be loaned out. I'm intrigued to see if either Kone or Burrell can match those numbers. In previous years, I would agree with loaning out Kolli, but not now with the paucity of quality in our current squad. He's light years ahead of the likes of Bennie and the other cohorts of similar age. £3 to £5 million for Saito, who I believe hasn't played a competitive game this season, beggars belief. Just about getting some cover in at left back as most on here have been advocating. Also - not sure I’ve been “telling you all” that, I just feel it’s the right path. We only know whether it’s the right one in time. I’m avoiding any discussion on the “project” now.

That’s not quite right. The last page of the last set of accounts shows what we spent last summer. And so the next set of accounts will show what we spent this summer.

Let Jake Leahy be cover, whether ready or not.

Fair enough. Yeah I would be fine with this but majority view seems to be we need cover there.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 21:27 - Aug 22 with 2203 views | Hoopsie | Has the Eze money banked in yet? It is concerning if we haven’t received a cent we are splurging on a position not as critical as CM or LB. Unless we have a deal for the “departing” Smyth lined up and that is going to pay for “incoming” Saito, like for like, then fair enough If RND is the LB cover, I wonder what we are doing with CM - Colback to come back?

Very easy to sit and say that here when we've played two games and have the whole season ahead of us. If Esquerdinha got injured and we only had Leahy to cover, that alone could relegate us. It would be carnage.

I hate this. Of course he has limitations as a player (he wouldn't be playing for us otherwise) but there are few players who you would count on in a cold night in November quite like Sam Field. Legend.
